As I mentioned in the summary, I was introduced to Teen Wolf when I started using Froy Gutierrez as a face claim for a Harry Potter OC of mine named Cody Kowalski (You'll get to know him in due time). I dug deeper and deeper into the lore of Teen Wolf and asked myself a ton of questions. The most notable of these questions was "What would it be like to be an innocent bystander in the room where Liam was getting beat to a bloody pulp?" Thus, as I mentioned before, Alice Simmons and her story were born.
All through quarantine, I worked away somewhat consistently, attempting to craft the perfect story about Alice and her unusual circumstances. I also strived to give characters like Nolan and Gabe a bit more backstory as well. Although I finished the first version of the fic (the one where Gabe dies) around the summer before the twelfth grade. I started asking myself another question "What would've happened if Gabe survived?"
Thus, I redid the ending shaping it into what it is today. It took a while, mostly due to the workload that comes with university, as well as the deficit known as writer's block, but eventually, I managed to complete the fic once and for all.
I want to thank everyone who took the time out of their daily lives to strap in and read this fic. I don't know how many of you got all the way through, but a view is a view, so thank you. Thank you all so much.
This has been the journey of a lifetime for me, but it's only just beginning. As of right now, I am working on a companion to Innocent Bystander called "Innocent Bystander: The Extras", in which we explore what exactly happened when Alice somehow didn't find herself "in the room where it happens", as Aaron Burr would put it. Here, I will also post author's notes explaining why I wrote something a certain way, the background of certain characters, etc. In addition to this, with the Teen Wolf movie happening, I have every intention to watch the movie and write a sequel to Innocent Bystander telling of the events from Alice's perspective.
