After the game I go back to my dorm to get ready to meet up with Cedric at the black lake. I decide to wear my black baggy jeans and black crop top with my doc marten boots. When I finish doing my hair I make my way down to the black lake.
The sky was getting darker as the sun was setting. The evening wind sent shivers through my body. 'I really should have worn a jumper,' I thought to myself. As I get closer to the lake I hear the celebratory shouts of the team and their supporters. Music is blaring and students are happily singing along with cups of what I assume is alcohol. They even have a bon fire burning. I keep an eye out for Cedric, it didn't take me long before I spotted the golden haired boy standing by the fire, the flames lightning up if face as talks to one of his team mates. His bright grey eyes fall to mine as a smile grows on his face. He makes his way over to me after excusing himself from the conversation.
"You came." He says with a smile.
"I just wanted to see what a Hufflepuff party is like." I reply.
"So what do you think." He says as he gestures to the scene.
"I think it's better then any party Slytherin could throw." I say with a smirk.
"Let's enjoy it then." He says as he offers me his hand, I place my hand in his and he leads me into the crowd.
After dancing for a while we head over to the drinks table. As I poor myself a drink the music cuts out and I hear a voice booming over the crowd.
"Can I have everyone's attention for a moment." It was the captain of Hufflepuff's team, he was quite clearly drunk. "Tonight we are celebrating our victory over Slytherin." The crowd starts to cheer and raise their glasses, I feel Cedric's arm wrap around my waist and pull me closer to him. "There is only one man here who deserves all the glory, and that is none other then Cedric Diggory." The crowd starts to go crazy. "Not only did he catch the snitch that lead us to our win, he showed those slimy Slytherin freaks who's boss, and I'm proud that Cedric will be joining me as captain this year. To Cedric!"
"To Cedric!" The crowd shouts as they cheer for him.
After the music turns back on everyone does back to dancing and drinking. I am about to walk back to the dance floor before Cedric grabs my hand.
"Let's go for a walk." He says as he leads me out of the chaotic party scene.
"Your house really love you don't they." I say laughing.
"They can be a bit over the top sometimes." He chuckles with a hint of embarrassment.
"I think it's sweet." I say as a push my side up against his as we walk hand in hand.
"You should hear them when I don't catch the snitch, it's much less sweet." He says laughing.
The cold was getting to me and Cedric caught me shivering.
"Here take this." He says and he takes off his jacket and drapes it over my shoulders. "Thanks." I reply trying not to blush."Has it always been your dream to play quidditch?" I ask trying to keep the conversation going.
"I guess, I mean quidditch has been part of my life ever since I was little, my father always wanted me to be "the best Hogwarts has ever seen", so I try my hardest to make him proud." Cedric says as he looks down to the ground, his smile subtly fading.
"Do you feel like that's the only way to make him proud of you?". I ask.
"Sometimes, it's kind of hard not to when all he talks about is quidditch. Whenever he introduces me it's always "have you met my son Cedric he's the best seeker Hogwarts was seen, he's going to be a future quidditch legend." Cedric says mimicking his fathers voice. "Why can't it ever just be, "have you met my son Cedric." He says with a sigh.
"I probably sound like such an ungrateful twat." He says with a chuckle, a smile gracing his lips once again.
"Not at all, if it makes any difference you are by far the nicest most sweetest boy at Hogwarts and that has nothing to do with stupid quidditch. I think any parent would be proud to have a son half as good as you."
Cedric turns to look at me, his eyes looking down on me. But I don't feel intimidated, I feel safe, like anything in the world could come at me, but I would be protected.
"You know, you are a lot nicer then you appear to be." He says.
"That's because most people don't take the time to get to know me." I say lowering my head slightly.
"Well they are missing out." He says as he places his hand gently on my cheek and tilts my head up, my eyes locked on his.
His golden hair falling perfectly framing his face. His gaze falls to my lips then back up to my eyes, silently asking for permission. I nod.
He starts to lean in, I follow his lead and close my eyes. Our lips touch softly, we stay for a few moments before he pulls back. Just as I thought this moment was over he places his other hand on my waist and pulls our body's together, I melt at his touch.
Our lips connect again, but this time it was more passionate. His hand moves to the back of my neck as he pulls me in to deepen the kiss. He starts to pull away, despite my disappointment I let him.
Somehow he knew I didn't want to stop, he smiled to himself knowing he left me speechless.
"Let me walk you back to your common room, it's getting late." Cedric says as he wraps his arm around my waist and we start to walk."Such a gentleman." I say with a smirk. He jokingly shakes his head in response.
