Goodnight

"I believe this is where we part ways." Cedric says as we stop in front of my common room door.

"It doesn't have to be." I reply lightly pulling at his shirt. Cedric leans in and kisses me sweetly on the lips. Not exactly what I had in mind but I'll take it.

"Goodnight." He whispers in my ear before he leaves.

I open the door to the common room expecting it to be empty, but inside I see Draco's silhouette sitting on the couch, the flames from the fire outline his sharp jaw. The first few buttons on his black shirt are undone, his hair slightly messed up as if he had been running is hand through it. An empty glass sits on the table, knowing Draco it was previously filled with the finest scotch Diagon alley had to offer.

"I know your there, your not very good at sneaking in." Draco says, yet he doesn't turn to look at me. His voice catches me off guard.

"I wasn't trying to sneak in." I say, knowing full well that was a lie.

"Whatever you say." He says as he pulls a flask from his pocket and pours a brown liquid into his glass.

I find myself walking over to Draco, I don't know why but for some reason that's where I want to be.

As I moved closer to him I could see a faint mark on his cheek, just below his eye. I can only imagine what it could be from.

"I see Pretty boy gave you his jacket." Draco says as he looks up at me.

"Why are you doing this?" I ask, desperate for an answer.

"I don't know what your talking about." He says as he lifts the glass to his lips.

"Don't play dumb Draco, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Why are you acting so jealous, ever since Cedric started showing an interest in me you have been behaving like a child!" I say raising my voice slightly above a whisper.

Draco finishes off his drink and sets his glass down before making his way closer to me. He looks me up and down then leans closer.

"I guess I'm just fucked in the head." He says before turning to leave.

"Just tell me, please." I ask him, longing for a real answer.

"You wouldn't be asking if you didn't already know." He says with his back turned.

"Know what?" I ask as Draco turns around to face me.

"That I love you." He says as his fingers brush against mine.

"Of course you love me, we're best friends." I say with a reassuring smile.

"I tried to believe that, that my feelings for you were platonic, but I can't lie to myself anymore." He says as our fingers interlock.

"Draco-"

"I know you have felt it too." He says in a whisper as he leans in closer. "Moments when your heart starts beating faster when we are near each other." He whispers in my ear. "Moments like this."

He's right, I have felt it, but I always pushed past it. The feelings were always there, every late night chat, every sleep over, every accidental touch, even every fight.

"Don't do something you will regret." I say looking away.

"The only thing I regret is not doing this sooner." He says as he closes the gap between us, his hand resting on my waist. His lips brush against mine. I pull back leaving Draco with a puzzled look. Before he can say anything I push him onto the couch, I slowly climb on top of him until I'm straddling him, a smirk grows on his lips. I crash my lips down onto his, Draco's hands land on my thighs, squeezing them. He tries to take take control of the kiss but I don't let him, I can tell it's frustrating him. His hand that was once on my thigh moves to my neck. His cold rings press down on my warm skin. He pulls his lips away from mine and starts to kiss my neck.

"Draco" I say softly as I turn away.

He stops, I move off his lap and sit next to him. Draco wraps his arm around me and I lean my head on his shoulder. What am I doing, the realisation of what happened hit me. Shit. I quickly get up and rush to my dorm, hoping he doesn't follow me.

I have a shower and get into bed, hopefully when I wake up everything will be better.
