Five:Eleine

"Annastacia's POV"

I was so surprised when Jen told me that it's my best friend Eleine who's looking for me.

Pagbukas ng pintuan ng office ko, tumayo agad ako para salubongin ang best friend ko.

"Oh my God, Eleine! I can't believe you're here!"

I hugged her so tight and she hugged me back.

"Yes, well gusto ko kasi kayong isurprise. I miss you all so much! It's been three years."

"Grabe, ang tagal na nga nating hindi nagkikita kita. Wait. Are you alone? Where's Steven? Hindi siya sumama sayo?"

I look at Eleine when I asked her, pero biglang nawala ang ngiti niya.

Steven is her fiancée. Higit 2 years na sila ni Eleine. Nagbabalak na nga silang magpakasal next year eh. Well nagkakilala sila sa Paris.

Alam ko lahat ng nangyayari sa best friend ko kahit magkalayo kami.

Half Spanish half Filipino ang fiancée nia kaya marunong itong magtagalog.

Napatigil si Eleine pero pilit ulit na ngumiti.

"Ahmmm a-asan pala si Sophia? Namimiss ko na din ang babaeng yun ah.."

Pag iiba niya sa tanong ko.

Hmmm, I smell something fishy..

"Eleine, wag mong ibahin ang usapan. May problema ba kau ni Steven? Tell me."

She took breath and can't look at my eyes straight.

I knew it, something happened between them.

Niyakap ulit ako ni Eleine at yumugyog ang mga balikat niya. Oh my gosh! She's crying!

"Shhh.. It's okay, don't cry.. Now, tell me what happened. Anong ginawa niya?"

She's sobbing so hard and I waited for her to calm down first. Patay sakin yung Steven na yun. Tskk!

"I-I'm so sorry Anna. Ang s-sakit sakit lang kasi. H-Hindi ko mapigilang maging emotional p-pag naaalala ko siya. I loved h-him so much. But he c-cheated on me."

Paliwanag niya, and she's crying so hard again.

Naawa ako sa best friend ko. She's a very nice person. She don't deserve being hurt like this.

"It's okay Eleine.. Come on, umupo muna tayo. Tell me what really happened.. Bakit mo nasabing he cheated on you? I thought he's a nice guy. That bastard! I'll make sure he will pay for hurting you."

Umupo kamin sa lovesit sofa and I ask Jen to give Eleine a glass of water..

Uminom muna ng tubig si Eleine bago sinimulang mag kwento.

"Last week kasi pupunta sana ako sa Normandy, France ,because one of my client is from there.. She ask me to make her wedding gown so I have to go there. It's a little bit far from Paris kaya I told Steven na baka magtatagal ako ng two days doon pero balak ko talaga na isurprise siya kasi malapit na ang anniversary namin."

Tumigil ulit siya at uminum ng tubig..
Nakikinig lang din naman ako ng mabuti sa kwento niya.

"So I decided to go back at Paris immediately para sa surprise ko sakanya.. I bought him a gift at nagpasyang dumiretyo na agad sa pad niya."

She's starting to cry again so I held her hand and ask her to continue.

"It's still 8 in the morning when I arrived at his pad. May duplicate naman ako sa pad niy kaya di naku kumatok. Pagpasok ko palang, I saw clothes and undies all over his living room papunta sa kwarto niya."

And there, she's sobbing again pero pinagpatuloy niya ang kwento niya.

"Nanghina ako sa nakita ko lalo na nung mapansin kong may damit ng babae at undies din. So I decided to check his room para masigurado ko kung totoo ba ang hinala ko.... A-and there they are, sleeping together in his bed. Both naked."

I hug Eleine when she didn't stop crying. I'm trying all my best to comfort her.

"It hurts... So damn hurt. I can't believe he did that to me. Hindi ako umalis agad sa pad niya. I left a letter for him telling that we're through. Agad din akong nagpabook ng flight pauwi dito. Ayoko munang makita siya. I want to forget what happened."

"Don't worry Eleine, we're here for you. Hindi ka namin iiwan. That bastard don't deserve you. Wala siyang kwenta."

"Thank you Anna."

We hugged each other until she's not crying anymore.

Lumabas kaming dalawa at dumaan muna sa isang coffee shop para makapag kwentuhan sa mga nangyari samin three years ago at never na naming binanggit ang about sa ex fiancée niyang manloloko.

6 pm na nung hinatid ko siya sa mansion nila.

Yep, Eleine Maxwell is also rich. They owned the most expensive and most prestigious school here in the country, Maxwell Academy.

Doon kami nag high school together with Sophia. They also have resorts and hotels.

"Thank you sa time Anna."

"No problem Eleine. Just always remember na nandito lang kami para sayo. Don't stress yourself too much."

"Yeah, don't worry, I'll be fine."

We hugged each other before I leave.

Naalala ko may dinner meeting pa pala ako sa mansion ng mga del Castillo.
