(Lola's POV)I stared at the guy with confusion briefly clouding my thoughts before I recognized the easy smile, brown eyes and dyed red hair of Christian, Beachview's very own mixologist.
I laughed at his goofy smile and his words. He was wearing a black T-shirt that hugged his lean body, although he was young, I could see outlines of a fit body and it was then I knew why at the night club last week he looked very familiar, it's because I've seen him before at school with the jocks, he played football.
"Hello Miss, what do I call you?" he asked crouching to Pat Snow's fur.
"Snow," I said and he smiled making cute noises and playing with her fur. After that he stood facing me and smiled.
"Hi Lola, nice to see you again."
"Yeah... Nice to see you too, although it seems like you are mostly seen at night."
Christian chuckled, "What? Why do you say that?"
"I've never really seen you at school, the first time I officially met you was at night and today it's dark already."
"I'm actually a vampire and I prefer to go out at night instead of during the day."
I smiled a small smile and played along. "Then I guess this is my cue to take my human self home before I get bitten by the vampire."
He laughed loudly with his eyes crinkling at the corner, Snow looked at us suspiciously. I then remembered he was the reason Edward and I fought last Saturday and he didn't even know it.
"I'm joking, I see you ate our burger, how was it?"
"It was incredible, Our burger?" I asked.
"Yeah, this place is owned by my parents, my siblings and I help out after school."
I suddenly felt amazed at how much some people work, he worked at a club during the weekend and helped his parents run a food cart during week days. Beachview's fee was very expensive so if this is the only job Christian's family does then paying for a fee like that seemed like a though financial decision. I shouldn't even be thinking like that, so I halted my thoughts.
"Wow, that's amazing, the food was amazing too."
"Thank you, the burger is my dad's specialty."
I wonder why speaking to Christian felt as easy as speaking to Chloe. He reminds me of Leo alot, his happy go lucky personality, he knew how to cook and he played football too. He picked up Snow and continued playing with her, he looked like he had done that a million times.
"Do you have a dog?" I asked
"Yes we do, my parents have one and among us kids, there are two."
"I thought as much be–"
I was cut off by my phone ringing. I looked at the screen and saw mom's name, my eyes immediately went to the time, It was 7: 30 PM, I rolled my eyes before picking up.
"Hey Mom."
"Lola I know your curfew is ten thirty but that's only when you are hanging out with friends," Mom said.
I know what she was trying to say, she had a tendency to overreact with things like this, I didn't know what to say so I opted for explaining where I was.
"I went out for a walk with Snow."
"I know. I met Amy before she left and she told me, but you know how busy it could get at night. If you weren't alone I wouldn't be worried."
