(Lola's POV)
Driving had become one of my favorite things to do during my free time. It was late October and with the rainy season beginning early, the occasional mild rain made san Fransisco beautiful. The grass was greener, trees bringing forth fruits, everything looked alive. I entered through the gate of our house which automatically opens when I pressed the remote. Mom and dad were trying to make living in San Francisco look like I had a normal teenage life by reducing things that seemed too much to them; they replaced the whole team of security personnel that would have been present at the gate to a few paying close attention to the house and I also got to go around freely without taking bodyguards unlike when we lived in New York.
When I turned of my ignition leaving my car packed at the far corner of the house. I smiled looking at the freshly cut grasses in the garden, with the grass freshly mown the roses looked more beautiful. I ran into the house, quick steps and little barking sounds were coming toward me — Snow— I bent down to pick her up . Snow my little cutie was given to me by my parents to keep me company whenever they were not around. I could hear the soft sound of music coming from the music room, I don't know who could be playing the piano because mum and dad both played.
"Dad"
I called my dad who was looking at peace and smiling to himself while he played. I went and sat beside him and resting my head on his shoulder while he played.
"Oh my God!, I know this song" my dad nodded smiling, I heard this piano piece from a movie I watched. After. I fell in love with it and started trying to play it on the piano, dad caught me a few times playing it and failing now he's playing the same piece. I smiled and watched attentively as dad played, his slim fingers skillfully gracing the right keys, his lips in a peaceful smile and his warm brown eyes filled with a peaceful kind of happiness. This is what music does to us, everyone in my family loves music of any kind. Mom and Dad met at a classical concert in college, everyone in my family had a really strong love for music mom and dad really loves classical music, my brother loves rock. At first he loved classical music but growing up he decided that he prefers rock to classical. I'm the only one who doesn't have a favourite i could switch from classical to pop or waltz to rock. When dad was done he kissed my forehead.
"Hey, princess" dad said, smiling at me.
"Hi dad" I said to my dad quietly
"How was school today?" dad asked
"same old" I said and my dad sighed then he began
"Lola, your mom wants you to walk for her new line, it should be out before winter break". Not this again mom and dad were always trying to make me walk.
Dad is an automobile Engineer and mom is a fashion designer, she's quite famous and both of them are rich which explains my car, our mansion and the private school I attend.
I sighed " Dad, mom knows i don't want to walk anymore and besides I'm out of shape" I tried making an excuse. Before we left New York I often walked on the run way during fashion shows, then I liked walking on the runway, I was happy doing it. I was popular at my old school but I've lost interest in doing anything modeling or anything to boost me to a popular spot and mom knows that.
"Princess you are not out of shape, you are growing and you are beautiful". My dad said trying to encourage me.
"No daddy i don't want to and please don't force me... please"
I plead with my dad but instead of replying to my pleadings he started playing the piano. Like I said before mom and dad have always been trying to get me to do the stuff I stopped doing like helping mom model or featuring in dads ad for new cars and bikes.
I stopped doing those stuff after what happened three years ago and I'm not sure I want to continue anytime soon.
Dad was rounding up when I stood up to leave the music room with a guitar from the collections hung on the wall I chose a classical, then dad played a note wrongly which never happens I looked back at him and he was smiling he then beckoned for me to come back and sit with him. I went back reluctantly and sat down beside my dad; when dad was done playing he spoke up .
