Chapter 9: We are a team, remember?

Yeon was hesitant to go out of the drum studio but it's best to let them know the situation before handling it further. She felt like meeting So Hee was just the start to uncover her past. Her family would cause a lot more problem than just fighting. If So Hee was capable of killing people... there's no doubt that her father could do the same. It hurts to unveil the truth but it had to be done sooner or later so might as well do it now. She had no clue on what she will find out when she opened the door. She heard voices that differs from her colleagues so she assumes it was some customers. That was until, Yonghoon called her out...

"Yeon, we have guests. Come here." She sat down beside Yonghoon and looked at the four new faces in front of her. "Well, well, you guys are the new Counters, right?" They all looked flustered when one of them spoke up and Yonghoon hastily introduced himself. "Ahh so you guys must be our sunbaenim. Annyeonghaseyo, I'm Jin Yonghoon." He nudges the others to do the same. After all of them had introduces themselves, it was Yeon's turn. "Nice to meet you sunbaenim, I'm Kim So Yeon. You can call me Yeon and I'm the last one to join the team." 

"Aigoo they only take one girl, this time? Are you adjusting fine, Yeon ssi?" Mae Ok asked, revealing her mother like attitude and Yeon couldn't help but smile at her. "I'm doing quite well, sunbaenim. They took care of me really well and all of us technically knew each other before becoming a Counter so I think it worked out just fine." She explained making Mae Ok formed a big proud smile. 

"That must be great to have a reunion back." So Mun speaks and Yeon hesitantly nodded. "It's a long story but I guess you could say it like that." The Counters knew to not asked further so the conversation went on about something else. 

"I think it's time we introduce ourselves too, right guys?" So Mun looked at his team and they agreed. "Before that, let me grab something for us to drink." Yonghoon excuses himself and Yeon wanted to tag along but before she could take a step further, Yonghoon stopped her. "You can sit down and relax. I'll be there soon." Yonghoon smiled before ruffling her hair. Yeon sighed silently but sat back down as told. Dongmyeong was talking to them so not much attention was on her when she sat beside Harin. Her phone buzzed and she immediately muted the notification, not wanting to be rude to her senior in which she just met. 

As Yonghoon arrives with tea on the tray, Yeon poured it and handed it to them first before her own team. Hence, their introduction begins.

"I'm Ga Mo Tak, our team's strongest guy." The guy with a gruff appearance spoke proudly and the girl beside him scoffs before saying "Do Hana, I'm the best at detecting the evil spirits." 

"These two... please don't mind them acting cocky. I'm Choo Mae Ok, the healer woman." Mae Ok sighs at how Mo Tak and Hana acted in front of their juniors. "I'm So Mun, the ACE and maknae. You guys can call me by name. Sunbae makes me feel old." So Mun scratched the back of his nape and awkwardly chuckles. 

"Will do, So Mun ssi." Harin smiled at him and they moved on to converse with each other. Dongmyeong and Yonghoon mostly talked. Harin joined in some of their conversations and so does Kanghyun. Yeon tried her best to look okay and joins in but her team knew how unease she must have been at the moment. Yonghoon decided to do something to ease her. He didn't know if it'll help but he did it anyways.

"If you don't mind me asking, how do you overcome your trauma after becoming a Counter?" Yonghoon asked to their seniors but Yeon couldn't help but think he's asking on behalf of her. 

"Time. After a while, you'll kind of acknowledge it and learn to live with it. The pain won't fully heal but you will come to understand it after time passes by also with the help of your own team. I would call my team, my family now. We bonded by having our own trauma and having company is the key, for me." Mae Ok answered it with thoughtful sentences and Yonghoon looked happy with the answer.
