Chapter 10: Maniac

"Harin, I finally found a place for you. There's a room for you just a level below mine. They said someone was living there rent free but they've cleared it out for new tenants. I've checked myself and it was really clean." Yeon excitedly informed Harin about the news and Harin smiles widely at her. "Thank you, Yeon. We could check it out later, after work. If you don't mind accompanying me, of course."

"No problem for you, Ju Harin ssi~" Yeon went upstairs to help Dongmyeong clean the piano and keyboard that they have on display. Nobody talks about what happened the day before since they all shared the same understanding which was Yeon's family issues will be reveal when she, herself was ready to tell them. This made Yeon grateful because she doesn't have to deal with questions that will trigger something deep inside her and made her sort of reliving the trauma again.

Besides what had happened yesterday, they expected to not have anymore surprises throughout their day. Everything went well like a normal day until... the sun falls down and the moon shines brightly on them. Yeon invited Harin for dinner and she could show him the apartment herself. Both Yongri and her were preparing for dinner when a knock was heard.

"I'll get it" Yeon opened the door and was suprised to see Kanghyun tagging along with Harin. "Hope you don't mind the extra company." Harin chuckles awkwardly. Yeon didn't mind but it was kind of suprising to see him since it was unplanned. "Not at all. Come in, both of you."

"Thanks" Kanghyun's voice can be heard in a muffle and everyone could tell his mind is bothered by something. Probably Harin knew about this, Yeon thought to herself while showing them their seats. Yongri was taken aback by an unexpected company but stay polite and greeted him awkwardly. Kanghyun bowed a bit and Harin broke the awkwardness by greeting her.

"Yongri, right?" He asked with a smile but Yongri just nods at his answer. It is visible to everyone that Yongri wasn't really comfortable with strangers. Harin just shrugs it off and they started their dinner. Yeon was the one who did the most talking. It was mostly discussing about the apartment Harin was about to rent. The more they talk about it, the more Kanghyun looked more uncomfortable than Yongri. 

They were too immersed with discussing it that they didn't realised Kanghyun was worrying about something. Once the dinner was finished, the three headed downstairs together. Kanghyun felt anxious but he didn't knew why. He is not always the one who goes with his gut feelings, so he, himself didn't know how to act upon it. Finding logic in everything has always been his thing. He was immersed with his thoughts that he didn't realise they arrived at the apartment already.

"So, this is it. Let's get in." Yeon unlocked the door and entered first, followed by Harin. Kanghyun hesitated but he entered. As soon as he enter, he felt a rush of wind greeting him, making every step heavier. It felt wrong to be there but he couldn't pin point the reason. His thoughts was interrupted by stepping on something inside the house. Both Yeon and Harin was further inside the apartment, leaving Kanghyun at the entrance.

He looked down at what he stepped and notice it was just some flyers about the apartment. He caught up with the other two and scanned his eyes throughout the room. One thing that caught his attention is why the bathroom was locked. "Yeon, can you unlock this for me?" He asked, in which Yeon scrunched her forehead. "That's weird, it shouldn't be locked. Wait let me go through the keys one by one. You can go around and check the room first with Harin." He nods and didn't think much about it.

Harin was checking the bedroom while Kanghyun was looking outside the balcony. The bedroom looked empty enough, just a bed, worn out shelf and a cupbord. He did notice a picture frame that was upside down which made him curious. Before he could flip it, he heard Yeon's voice.

"Who are you?!" Her voice trembled in fear as the person in front of her pushes her against the wall and ran out of the apartment. Yeon was conscious but she was in shock. All she did was unlocking the bathroom door. Seeing a guy inside was definitely not something she had in mind. She could only watch as Kanghyun was chasing the guy out of the apartment. He managed to catch him just before he reached the final steps of stairs to get out of the building.
