1: EAST WOOD

"So this is the school."

"It looks haunted and terrifying."

Indeed.

In a middle of nowhere, stood the old infrastructure of infamous East Wood Institution, which was once an institution that trains human to hunt demonic creatures. It is said that it once stood mighty yet the gods punish them for killing an ancient demon. The elders believe that up until now, the demon is hunting for a suitable maiden to an ancient ritual that will grant him immortality.

It was just a story though, an old bedtime story that puts the children to bed early.

"It wasn't that bad." I murmured as I scan the façade of the rusty iron-casted gate.

"You're seriously saying that when you are the reason why they throw us at this filthy place."

"It wasn't my fault entirely." I snapped that made her shut up.

I wasn't in the mood to argue when we are being out-casted.

"We're once the famous St. Claire's scholars. Now, a banish savants. All for the love of mystery." Milo murmured in a mock tone.

"What's so bad about exposing an organization run by mobs? They supposed to thank us, not kick us out." Rohan added.

"Oh for pete's sake! It was a very bad idea, like very bad." Lalith interjected. "If it wasn't for Isla's indulgence we wouldn't be here! We shouldn't agree to her idea. She puts us in a bad position. It is all her fault!"

Tuluyan akong napapikit sa paninisi ni Lalith. She agreed on exposing the rotten system inside the school and now she's putting all the blame at me like she didn't partake in the plan.

"Calm down. They throw us out, now we have to suck it up." Rohan edge in that irks Lalith more.

"I didn't want to be here, okay! I don't want to be stuck in this spooky school with the rest of fiddle-footed people, like the three of you!" She bawled that made us look at her indifferently.

She's such a spasmodic person. One minute she's gripping the rope, the last minute she's letting go sending us to death bed.

"Can you shut up for a minute, please? You're acting like a total bitch." I uttered that made her turn color.

Real talk. Real slap.

She finally shuts up that made me breathe relief. She always talks and always kvetches. She's overbearing most of the time. Fact. She's an extremely difficult, offensive, and atrocious person. Apparent fact. Yet, she's still a family despite showing her bad sides. Transcendent fact.
