After the team finally found the UNSUB, tension began to make the air feel thick and burning hot. Emily and Aaron didn't talk about what almost happened 3 nights ago. They both constantly thought about it to the point it was impacting their work.

The jet ride home went quickly, the team resumed their normal places again, everyone but Emily and Aaron fell asleep instantly, they spent the entire journey exchanging side eye looks and the occasional small smile. As the team began waking up they made sure to keep the looks to a minimum.

Since Haley wasn't there to greet Aaron at home, going back to his house after cases made that dark and twisty feeling in his heart overtake the rest of his body, Emily, being his best friend understood this and always invited him over after any case tough or not.

Aaron needed to finish a file back at the BAU so they decided Emily would pick up some chinese food and meet Aaron at her apartment. Before he arrived, she had a shower and washed her hair, she changed into one of his t-shirts and her leggings, secretly hoping Aaron would like that she's in his clothes.

As he arrived the awkwardness began to subside, after all he was just Aaron, her best friend, who she was beginning to love. Neither one of them wanted to bring up what happened in Miami but it just kept replaying through both of their minds.

"hey em.. i really love spending this time with you" he said looking down at the bottle of beer his hands were gripping unusually hard

"hotch" Emily replied reluctantly "i.. urm wanted to thank you for the other night, i don't really know what happened.. or what nearly happened but i know it wasn't right and i'd like to apologise-"

Aaron interrupted her "em! no! don't apologise, i don't know what got into me you just looked at me and something happened"

Emily couldn't hear a word he was saying she was enchanted by his mouth, the way his lips moved made her entire body tingle, he quickly realised he could be saying anything and not a word would be heard.

She slowly moved closer to him, he placed his huge hands on her lower spine, they both inhaled deeply and their lips collided, their tongues fought for dominance, Emily grabbed his neck, just below his hair.

Aaron slid off his shirt off of Emily's hot body, she pulled back gasping for breath, she turned back around to look at Aaron, certain that this is what she wanted to do, she grabbed the buckle of his belt and lead him upstairs.

An hour later they both lay sprawled out across her bed, panting. "water?" Emily managed to spit out "yeah" Aaron replied slightly laughing. "i just hope the neighbours didn't hear". Emily let out a laugh as she slipped on Aaron's work shirt as she left to grab 2 bottles of water.

"Aaron, here" she said while handing him the bottle, he was stunned how beautiful she looked, little pools of sweat collecting in the crevices on her lower back, happier than ever Emily leans over and kisses the man she'd hidden her love from for 5 years
