3 days later, the team finally caught the Unsub, JJ messages Emily to let them know they were going to be about 3 hours before they came to meet the newest member of the BAU family.

Emily looked around her bright hospital room, it was filled with balloons and flowers, mostly from Aaron but Emily didn't mind. She smiled to herself when she saw her husband and son together, both asleep, Aaron on the chair beside Emily's bed and their baby in the incubator. Although the last week had been mentally and physically draining for the young woman, at that moment, she couldn't be happier. Dr Wilson entering the room brought Emily out of her fixation, she had a warm smile that made Emily trust her.

"how are we doing today?" she asked while sliding blue gloves over her hands

"i'm feeling so much better actually, and little one over there is getting stronger every minute" Emily lovingly smiled

"good! that's why i'm here actually, looking at the tests we ran yesterday, he seems to be doing better than we'd expect so, i'd like to check over him one more time and if that goes okay.. i think we can take him out the incubator" Dr Wilson explained

Emily looked at her speechless "wait.. your saying i can actually hold my son?!" her excitement woke up Aaron

"what's going on?" he sleepily asked

"i'm sorry love, but Dr Wilson says we might be able to hold him today!" Aaron jumped up, almost comically and sat on the edge of Emily's bed, while doctor Wilson checked over their son, Emily and Aaron didn't stop looking at him once, their fingers were intertwined and with Aaron's free hand, he drew lazy patterns on Emily's back, even though they only met their son a few days ago, both raven haired agents would do anything for him. The couple melted into each other's touch and immediately remembered how energising and calming their love really was.

"this little one is ready for a cuddle with his mom, if she's ready" Dr Wilson cheerfully interrupted

"oh i am more than ready"

Dr Wilson gently picked up the baby and moved him over to the eager couple, she placed him into Emily's arms and smiled softly at them, the raven haired duo were instantly transported into their own bubble of love and joy. They didn't realise that Dr Wilson had left the room.

"he has your nose" Emily looked up at her husband

"and your eyes" Aaron kissed Emily's forehead

Emily moved over to one side of the bed and gently patted the uncomfortable mattress next to her, inviting Aaron to lay next to her, he slipped off his shoes and shuffled next to her, Emily rested her head on Aaron's shoulder as they both just looked in awe at the tiny, perfect little boy that they share.

Minutes passed like seconds and Emily's phone ringing broke both Emily and Aaron out of their trance

"hi JJ, have you landed?"

"Em, we're all at the hospital, which room are you in?" JJ excitedly asked

"oh! wow! we're in room 709, it's on the 5th floor" Emily smiled at Aaron

"okay babe, we'll be there in a minute" JJ hung up the phone

Emily turned to Aaron excitedly "this is the last chance to change his name before we tell the team, are we 100% sure" we squeezed his hand

"i love his name, and i love you" He kissed her lovingly

The two were interrupted by Derek clearing his throat in the doorway "get a room you two"
