Logan's POV:

The car ride was really quiet. But watching Laura turn as red as a tomato was worth it. It's so hard to control my laughter, but if I actually did start laughing, I know that she won't let me see another light of day.

"Wait! Where are we going? My house is the other way..."

"Shh," I hushed her, "Alex is at my place with Alison."

"Oh."

We drove to my place to pick them up. Laura and I walked upto my front porch and I pushed open the door. Someone has got to teach Ali' and Alex about locks, looks to me like they were planning on getting my house robbed.

"Alex!" Laura and I yelled. Alex came running from the kitchen panting. He's seriously gotta' get more athletic. All he does is eat.

"Ali' said that she'll meet us at 'the place'," Alex air quoted, "By the way, where is this place?"

I laughed, "You'll find out soon."

"Where's the place!" asked Laura, her curiosity getting the better of her.

"You have to be patient, Sunshine!" I smirked.

"Don't call me sunshine!" she scowled, "It's getting old, Logan!"

"Stop fighting like an old married couple!" Alex exclaimed in the middle, "Now, where is Alison!?"

At this statement, both Alex and Laura looked at me. I knew exactly where Alison was but still the surprise has gotta' stay as the surprise.

"It's okay buddy! We'll find your girlfriend soon," I pat Alex's shoulder with my free arm.

"She's not my girlfriend!" he slapped my hand, turning red.

"Gee Logan! You brought us to our own house, how awesome of you," said Laura, her voice dripping with sarcasm.

"I try," I grinned walking up to the door, "C'mon, let's get in."

Laura dug through her bag, and finally, might I add, she found her key. She opened the door.

"Why doesn't mom leave the lights on!"

"SURPRISE!" everyone screamed and started singing 'happy birthday'.

"Oh my god guys!" exclaimed Laura, "I did not expect that!"

"That why it's called a 'surprise' party, sunshine! Now, why don't you guys go and get changed."

"Okay!" replied Alex pushing Laura up the stairs.

After about five minutes, Alex came down and began talking to random people. After a while, he showed up in front of me with Alison and asked, "My mom and dad aren't going to show up, right?"

"Nope," replied Alison popping the p.

"They wanted to spend some time alone," I add, "Where's your sister?"

"Who cares?!" he replied, "She's probably only going to show up tomorrow."

"Hey! A girl can take how much ever time she wants to get dressed," Alison interjected.

After about what felt like forever, Laura showed up. I watched her walk down the stairs. She was dressed in a marine blue strapless knee-length dress with her hair pulled up in a high ponytail (as always). She looks beautiful. Wait?! Did I just say that? Lets just pretend those words didn't come out. I mean, I've always thought that she looked cute in a best friend kind of way so no big deal, right?
