Living in a house like this isn't easy at all, everyday I woke up and wish to go back in time a year ago when everything was good and peaceful, when mum and Diego were still alive, when dad used to treat me better.

He never treated me well, but it was better than now. He has always preferred the boys over me and my sister. He used to say that the boys are stronger and they were born to work while girls are useless.

Don't get me wrong, he always treated mom well. I think he is affected by her death, so he became moody and violent.

I hear footsteps coming closer to my room, and then Hugo - one of my brothers - shows up telling me that dad wants me in his office.

Walking downstairs and a single tear rolls over my face when I go by Diego's room haunted by memories where we were happy together, he was the kindest brother to me since he is the oldest. And the difference between our ages isn't so far from each other, he is the first child and I am the second. He was older than me by 3 years.

We were so close to each other, he was my only friend as my father is strict and doesn't allow me and Isabella - my younger sister, the youngest one among us - to have friends. I think he is trying to protect us.

"Addy, c'mere gurl, let's watch a movie, the one that you like" his voice sounds so happy.

"Stop Diego, I don't understand why I am not allowed to have friends, while it is okay for you." I said, knowing that he is trying to cheer me up.

"You don't need friends, Addy. I am your friend." My eyes widened at his words, and my heart softened.

"My best friend." I say, and a little smile grows on his face.

I was brought back to reality by my father's voice, He sounded mad, this ain't good.

I just realize that a couple of tears are on my cheeks as I remember those memories followed by another ones.

I suddenly wipe my tears and head to his office in a rush.

Ivan - one of my brothers - motiones his hands towards me, trying to tell me that my father is furious.

I enter his office, and Ivan was right. He doesn't seem happy.

"Adelina, where is my paperwork?" his sound was calm, but his face wasn't.

"I don't know, father. I haven't touched anything." I sound confident although my heart was beating so hard, I can hear it.

"You are the last one who came here to clean it," he still stares at me, but his voice remains calm. "Don't play these silly games with me. Tell me where my paperwork is." His shouts send fear to my body. His voice turns from soft and calm to furious and scary tone.

"I cleaned the office, but I haven't moved anything from its place. I promise father, everything is in its place." My answer makes him annoyed.

I try to collect myself from crying as he keeps blaming me about all the troubles that happened to us, especially my mom and Diago's death, the lost paperwork and that he got fired from his job.

I can't do it anymore, I can't handle it.

"I haven't done any of these things, but you did." I said in a temper, I am suddenly surprised by what came out of my mouth.

His eyes widen at my reaction. Now, he is staring at me in a terrible way.
I suddenly knew I messed up.

He is gonna kill me, please God help me.

He suddenly grabs my chin firmly, A scream escapes my lips. I didn't even have the opportunity to run .

And then thank God Andreas - my brother, the third one - called him.
He let go of my jaw, I fastly go upstairs to my room, still frightened from what has just happened.
