Chapter 13: Date I

I was peacefully sleeping when my alarm begins to ring announcing the beginning of a new day.

I wake up and get ready, with pairs of sneakers this time; I don't need to be tall, I prefer myself as I am. And grab my stuff ready to go to school, with strange energy fills me and a smile drawn on my face.

I look in the mirror for the last time before going to school and I think I look gorgeous even with the scar on my cheek, I drew a little heart on it using eyeliner, trying to make it looks better.

For the first time in a while; years to be specific. I walk like this in the street, I walk like a kid when he is happy, a jump walk?! Or something like this. It's a walk but I am jumping.

"Hey, Adell!" Leonor shouts and waves at me from space. I wave back and cross all this space running till I reach her.

"Hello, Leo." I jump at her in the form of a hug, a bear one.

"Wow, you are full of energy today." I giggle. "You're in a good mood today, what happened?" She asks while tilting her head in my direction.

"Nothing, I woke up and the sky was beautiful which made me happy." I can't hide my smile but I still don't know why I am smiling.

"Ah okay, have you met him?" She says with a sly look in her eyes.

"Who? You mean the boy?" She nods. "Ah no not yet. I am supposed to meet him today after school. Can you come with me?" I make puppy eyes, maybe she will feel pity and come with me.

"Today?! Where are you going to? And why am I supposed to come with you? It's like a date or something like that."

"I don't know, he will pick me up from school. Pleaseee you know I am bad at socializing, pleaseee help meeee." I grab her hands, down to my knees, and beg her.

"But it isn't appropriate for me to come."
"Pleaseeeeee Leonor, Pleaseee." I keep begging her. "Okay okay fine, I will come. And stand up, everybody is looking at you." She raises me to my legs.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you so much, Leo, you are the best." I grab her into my embrace and hug her tightly.
She pats my back. " It's okay, I wanted to come anyway. I want to know what will happen." She giggles and I giggle at her giggle.

The bell rings and I am still hugging Leonor.

The school day has finished, and I am still waiting for 'my fiancé' who I haven't seen yet to come.

I can't imagine that he is late and it's our first meeting. What an annoying boy!

"Hi, Adelina." A familiar voice hit my ears. I couldn't recognize it, so I turn around to see who is talking to me.

I saw a tall, big-built man. Ah never mind, he is Mason. He got closer to me due to the push he received from Leonor.

Having a closer view of his hair and in the shadow of the school building, his hair isn't dark brown, it seems to be black.

"Hi, Mason. How are you?" I tried to be nice. Even though I still haven't forgotten what he did.

"Fine and you?" His voice became softer in such a calming way.

"Great." I answer. It isn't considered as a lie, it's just hiding all the mess I have been through.

"Mmm..." He raises his hand and rubs the back of his neck. "I want to talk to you about something, so may I take you somewhere where we can talk?" He lowers his hand and puts both his hands in his pockets.
