When One Direction released their debut single on September 11, 2011. It broke the pre-order sales record for Sony Music. A week later, 'What Makes You Beautiful' stormed into the UK singles Chart at No.1, having sold 153,965 copies - the highest first-week sales for any song that year. It would remain at No.1 in the UK and Ireland for four weeks. Days later, One Direction announed their debut UK dates and tickets for the Up All Night Tour were sold out within minutes of being released. When the single was released in erica in February 2012, it debuted on the Billboard Hot 1oo, going on to peak at No.4 for two weeks.
