Your POV

Thunder rips the sky and echoes in the darkness in the menacing clouds. The plane rocks and shakes in the turbulence of the night sky, reminding us of who really is in control: Mother Nature. And she is a very angry woman at this point.

The flight attendants sit down and fasten their seat belts, looking upset from the tiring journey. The dim light from the cabins that should help passengers relax on night flights only serves to draw attention to the flashes of lightning that explode in the sky.

We finally land in Las Vegas after what feels like the longest four hours in history. I'm about to jump over the seat to pass the twenty passengers standing in the aisle trying to pull their belongings from the overhead compartments. I need to get out of this damn can!

The fights start tomorrow but my weight class qualification doesn't happen until the next day, so I have time to rest and try to get myself placed with Colin. I was pondering for hours if I should ask anything from the brother I barely knew and whom I've hated since I discovered his existence. But in the end my need to beat Colin and settle things with Scarlett once and for all overcame my animosity and little snag with my stepbrother. After all, all he did was be born. It was our motherfucking father who created all the destruction in our lives as a result of his actions.

Walking through the silent lobby I catch a glimpse of a woman from the side. Light brown hair almost blond, high cheekbones. My suspicion becomes quite clear as I approach.

- Natalie?

She turns around and her shocked expression at seeing me quickly turns to confusion.

- Y/N? What are you doing here?

- I came to fight. I don't think I need to ask anymore what you're doing in the vicinity of a fight.

She smile.

- Are you going to fight?

- It depends.

She frowns.

- Of what?

- Of you convincing your boyfriend to help me. - I smile

- Oh no.- She raises her hands signaling that there's no chance of her getting involved in whatever I'm saying.- The last time I put myself between you, things didn't end very well.

- Well that was because he thought I was hitting on you.

- And you weren't? - She raises an eyebrow. I laughed out loud because she got me right on.

- Ok. Maybe I was. But I'm only one woman's wife and my heart belongs to another.- I smile and wink.- Try not to be devastated. You had your chance.

She shakes her head.

- You're not going to cause me problems, are you? - She asks wearily although there is a smile on her face.

- I probably will. But you will help me anyway.

She sighs loudly.

- Well. Sit down and have a coffee with me and I'll see what I can do.

=================

It's almost eight o'clock when my cell phone rings. As I didn't get a response from Natalie all day I thought Henry wouldn't want to help me so I had already decided what I was going to do. I'm going to enter the MMA Open whatever the cost. Tom is right, I need to deal with the things I want to change in my life as a long term strategy. Winning back Scarlett is important but so is fighting. I've wasted a lot of time and I'm going to have to really dedicate to it. Enough of living a life that makes me feel dead inside. I have enough money to live well and I'm about to start living for real.
