"So..." you started. "You're telling me that there is another dimension under Hawkins called 'The Upside Down?' And you have a friend 'Eleven,' that has powers, and she can move stuff with her mind, and she opened a gate to this Upside Down, and monsters were in Hawkins, and they were the reason for some of the deaths these past few years?" At the school and on the car ride to Nancy Wheeler's house, who had shown up at the school along with Robin Buckley, you were being filled in on all the events leading up to these killings. The murder of Chrissy.

"Yes," Dustin said. "And we think that the Upside Down had something to do with Chrissy and Fred being killed. And we also think that... Max could be next. So we're trying to figure out some way to stop it." You glanced at Max, empathetic and also to a certain degree sympathetic to how she was feeling.

Once they found out you were best friends with Chrissy, you told them all about how she was having nightmares, headaches, and trouble sleeping, and even that episode in the bathroom the other day. They informed you that Chrissy's 'episode' was probably her seeing the thing that had killed her. Max said that something similar had happened to her.

It was a whole lot to take in, and almost too hard to believe. You were keeping your mind open because you'd always heard that Hawkins was cursed, and it sort of made sense. It didn't make you feel any better about Chrissy, but at least it was some closure.

"This thing... you're calling it 'Vecna?'" you asked.

"Yeah, we came up with that with Eddie," Dustin said.

You raised your eyebrows, "You've talked to Eddie?"

"Yeah, we know where he's at."

"Where?" you asked quickly.

Your eagerness must have concerned them because no one said anything for a minute. Steve was driving but you saw him glance at you through the mirror. Max wasn't really contributing much to the conversation, which you didn't blame her for but she also glanced between you and Dustin. Lucas seemed to be waiting for Dustin to say something. And Dustin was just looking at you, contemplating. So it was going to come down to Henderson on whether or not you would talk to Eddie.

Dustin finally spoke up, "Why do you need to know? How can we trust you and know that you won't go tell Justin and his goons?"

"I want to talk to Eddie. He was the last one that saw Chrissy before she... died. And believe me, I don't want anything to do with Justin. He's a douchebag." You stared at the freshman expectantly, waiting for him to answer. You could tell he was really thinking about it. You didn't know exactly what kind of relationship he had with Eddie, but you could tell that Dustin wanted to protect him.

"Look, I promise I'm not going to tell anyone his location or try anything. I just want to talk to him," you said.

"Hmm... fine." Dustin finally gave in. "He probably needs more food anyways. Let me talk to him."

You let your shoulders drop with relief while Dustin pulled out his walkie talkie. "Eddie? Eddie, this is Dustin."

"Dustin! Hey, I'm running low on food. And I could really use a six pack right now." Eddie's voice crackled over the device.

"Okay well you're in luck because someone wants to come talk to you. Here, I'm handing her the walkie talkie." Dustin held out the walkie talkie and looked at you to take it and you stared at him with wide eyes before he thrusted it into your hands.

"Hello? Dustin? Who am I talking to?" Eddie asked.

"Hi!" you cringed because of how eager you sounded. "Hi, you probably don't know me but my name is y/n y/l/n. I'm Chrissy's best friend." You gulped, waiting for his response. You didn't know what exactly you should have said, but hopefully that basic information would let him know enough.
