Nothing Without You

Chapter 8*

**A week later**

-Tom's POV-

I called my family after the surgery telling them what happened. Afterwards they all got plane tickets to come see Aurelia and I. They came to the hospital a few days later, we were all talking and catching up, happy that we could see each other. Today was the day we were leaving the hospital, I called my mum asking her if she could come pick us up.

"Hey Aurelia?" I asked, "Hmm?" She responded, looking up from her phone. "I was just wondering if you wanted to stay with me in my apartment with Haz and I until you are fully healed." I asked her. Her cheeks were flushed with a light pink. She looked up at me and said "Yeah, sure" I smiled at her and kept packing some of the clothes my mum brought me.

When my mum got to the hospital both Aurelia and I got into the back of the car and headed back to my apartment. I put my arm around her and she snuggled into my chest and smiled as I leaned down to kiss her head. We stopped by Aurelia's apartment so she could pick up a few essentials to stay with me and Haz for a little while. I looked at the couch and remembered that just a week ago we were going to have the most awkward talk ever.

I looked down the hall into Aurelia's room to see her changing. I was going to turn away but I couldn't help looking at the bandage covering her stomach and thinking about how she didn't even think twice about giving her kidney to me. I smiled and turned to go to the kitchen to make a cup of tea while she was packing. I grabbed the two cups of tea and headed to her room.
I knocked on her door with my foot and it swung open with her laying on her bed half asleep.

-Aurelia's POV-

I was getting tired from walking around so much. The most walking that I would do would be going to the bathroom from my bed. I went to lay on my bed and heard a very subtle knock on the door. I looked over enough to see that it was Tom with two cups in his hands. I sat up and grabbed one of them, saying a quiet thank you and patted the spot next to me to signal to Tom that I wanted him to sit there.

He came and sat next to me, I smiled and leant my head down to his shoulder. I was so content with this moment, it was quiet and calming and I never wanted it to end. I then heard a knock on my front door knowing it was probably Nikki wanting to leave. I stood up, turned around, and gave Tom a smile and nodded to signal I was ready to go.

We opened the door and headed out to the car. I put my bag in the back and got in the car with Tom. Nikki drove us to Tom's apartment and dropped us off then drove to her hotel. He and I went inside and headed to the elevator since he was on the third floor. There was an awkward silence when we were in the elevator, and I would catch a few glances of Tom looking at me.

I broke the silence and said "Tom I-" I was stopped by Tom pulling my hips and neck into his body and smashing his lips against mine. "I know," He responded. He pulled me back in and kissed me again, but this time it was filled with more passion and love. It was different then the other times. He pulled away and looked into my eyes. He kissed me one more time before pulling away.

I was smiling as the doors opened, Tom grabbed my hand and pulled me to his apartment door, he unlocked it and we found Haz making out with a random girl with both of their shirts off and it looked like she was working on his belt.

"Oh my gosh Haz!!!" I quickly covered Tom and I's eyes. I didn't want to see this and I definitely didn't want Tom seeing another girl without a shirt on. I heard some rustling around and the front door shut and then we heard Haz say "You can uncover your eyes now." I uncovered our eyes and I instantly went into my noisy mode and asked "Who was she Haz?" "No one" Haz replied.

Haz gave a look to Tom and I turned to see his reaction since he was right behind me. Tom then said "Why don't I show you your room?" "No, I wanna know who she was," I said. "Well then you brought this upon yourself darling" Tom responded. I looked at him confused and then he picked me up bridal style and carried me to what I think is my room. He threw me on top of the bed carefully not wanting to hurt me. He got on the bed, got on top of me, and started leaning down looking like he was going to kiss me but brought his hands up to my ribs and started squeezing.

"No, Tom, stop please!!" I pleaded but he didn't stop, I was laughing so hard my stomach was starting to hurt. "Please Tom!!" I giggled. He finally stopped, got off and laid beside me. I looked at him and smiled. "Thank you" I said, "For what?" He asked. "For being my best friend" I replied. He grabbed my face softly and brought our faces closer together, our lips were almost touching when he said "I'm really glad you're here.." I responded by saying "Me too" He then carefully pressed our lips together, smiling through the kiss, then got up and left.
