It's official. My crush on Eddie Munson has grown. His hands felt so good on me, on my thighs, on my face, on my hips... he has no right for me to like him this much. Today I woke up at 9:00, I love spring break. I go downstairs to find my brother and my mom discussing things while the news is playing in the background. "I didn't know you were back." I say referencing to him being at the party last night after getting decked by my crush.

"There's been a murder." He says deadpan, he had tears in his eyes. "I think it was Chrissy." I look around for the prank camera crew, I look at mom who also has tears in her eyes.

"What?" I whisper out.

Mom stands up and walks to me putting her hands on my shoulders, "There's been a murder at a trailer park." Eddie lives at a trailer park...with his uncle, he's mentioned it to me before. "We know it was a Hawkins student and a girl because they used the words she. Honey, it will be alright."

No it won't. Chrissy had always been there for me and I was never appreciative. She was a nice person. A very nice person. I feel my legs go out and I crash into my mom. I'm crying? Jason comes to my side and he's also crying. Moms crying. We're all crying. I'm so confused.

——

I've refused to come out of my room. My supply of food is currently some coke and skittles. It'll do. I'm journaling and have had five pages soaked in tears. I hear a phone call from the phone they put in my room for my 17th birthday. It was a big deal at the time, Chrissy and I prank called for hours using it. I sniffle. I pick up the phone and let out a soft hello.

"TILLY!" Dustin shouted on the other end probably breaking an eardrum, "Have you seen Eddie since last night?"

I sigh, "No Dustin I haven't, what's wrong?" I can hear the desperation in his voice and the commotion on the other line.

"Eddie's gone missing."

"Where are you guys?" I sniffle again. "I want to help find Eddie."

Someone takes the phone, Robin, "YOU want to help find EDDIE?!" Commotion again, Steve now.

"WHY do you want to help find EDDIE?!"

I giggle a little, they make me laugh when others cant, "Maybe were now best friends." Everyone's yelling and shouting, Dustin's now on the phone.

"YOU! You're lying!"

"Where are you guys?"

I hear Robin shout the VHS store on the other line in the background and i hang up. I have to try and get myself together. I put on my skirt, sweater, chunky socks, and tennis shoes. I brush my hair and curl it, putting clips in. I look for a jacket and glance at Eddie's. I grab it impulsively and run downstairs, "Mom! I'm going to go and try and talk to some friends, maybe it will cheer me up!"

Mom shouts from the kitchen. "Okay honey! Be careful!" I rush out the door and grab my pink bike with pink and white tassels, I think it's the greatest bike ever. Jason makes fun of me for it. I ride standing, I think it's more aerodynamic. I go down one lane and another and at some point i'm at the VHS store. I enter the room where everyone's behind the counter.

"Tilly?" Robin asks, "Why are you here?"

I sit on the counter sliding my legs over. "I've come to help of course, did you forget about our discussion on the phone?" Steve looks up and smiles at me.

Steve speaks up, "Well, i'm glad you're here." I look at him my eyebrows pinched. "Everyone else here is incompetent."

Dustin shouts, "Hey!" I think I have a headache already. "Oh my god..." Everyone looks at me again.

"Is that?-" A girl with red hair whispers.

"Eddie's jacket!" Robin laughs. "This is priceless!"

I feel a blush coming on, the pink flooding my cheeks, "Aren't we trying to find a missing person?" I try and change the subject and Mike explains where we're going to go, a dealers house who deals Eddie his weed and other things. "Okay, let's go! Chop chop!" I walk back outside letting the spring weather hit me. The others trail back outside and we all pile into Steve's car.

——

"HELLO!" Dustin yells, he's a very loud boy. "HELLO?"

Steve sighs, "What did I just tell you!?"

We walk around there's some dust and cobwebs including a couple weird stains on the floor. "Eew." Max says to herself and I him in agreement. I flash my flashlight to a backdoor.

"Guys?" They all come over and we look out the back doors window. "Is that on this property?"

We all try and look a bit closer but it's hard to see due to the windows glare. We exit the back door and sneak over into the shed. We open the door and find a light switch. The room comes to light and I look around. Steve sneaks past me looking at the boat with a tarp atop it. I look at the food wrappers, "Someone's been here."

They nod and I look at the dust on the floor. Disgusting. I go back to Steve who's holding an oar. "Do you think it's possible he could be hiding in the boat?" Steve asks. Before I could answer steve already started to poke and pry. Then suddenly someone pops out, a shatter of glass, and i'm up against a wall looking at the boy I made out with who's threatening me with a glass bottle.

"Woah! Eddie it's us!" Dustin shouts. Eddie's eyes look around the room wildly almost like a feral animal. "Eddie that's Tilly. You have Tilly not anything or anyone else." Eddie looks back at me and his eyes soften. And then, they start to water, my brows knit together in concern. He drops the bottle and lets the glass shatter. He pulls me into a hug, long and tight. I hug him back with just as much night as him.

"Are you okay?" I whisper.

"No." He whispers back. He pulls away and looks at me, "I saw the worst thing happen to Chrissy. I don't know how to explain it."

Max speaks up, "We've seen it before."

Eddie and I turn to her, Eddie still holding my shoulder, not letting go.
