We walk away from the rock and I notice something brown and lacy in the distance. Eddie and I are the ones behind everyone and I tug on his arm. He bends down and I whisper in his ear, "My bras over there." I giggle and he laughs. He looks around and skips over there handing me my bra. I thank him and quickly put it on as we walk. We catch up with the group, Eddie's large hand discreetly on the small of my back.
We keep walking and it feels like forever, "The sun is already setting!" Steve exclaims. "Dustin, I swear if you got us lost!"
Dustin sighs, "What's your problem, Steve!? When you had to hang out with me you sighed!"
Steve gasps, "I did NOT sigh!"
The boys banter and Max and Lucas make fun of them. Robin and Nancy sit down to rest for a second. I sit down by them with Eddie on my other side. Once I sit down, Eddie's hand is on my upper thigh and we watch the fight. "Hey, psst!" Robin whispers and I turn, Eddie hadn't heard it. "So, did you guys fuck or not?"
Nancy laughs and hits Robins arm, "Shush Robin!"
"No!" She turns to me again, "Did you guys fuck? Did you guys participate in the devils tango? The no no square touching game?" She starts to get louder.
I shut her up, "Shh! Maybe you'll know later! Oh my god!" I feel Eddie's hand squeeze my thigh and I turn to him as Nancy and Robin are discussing my love life.
Eddie has a big smirk on his face, "I should take you on a date one day. You could attend my concerts, and wear my t-shirts, and we could cuddle all day in my trailer."
"Oh, yeah?" I giggle. I love the idea, Eddie and I spending even more time then now? That would be perfect. "When would we have time for that?"
He smiles and whispers in my ear, "Once this is all over," I smile. "We're going to spend the rest of our lives together." I bite my lip and turn to him. He looks down at my lips and I look down to his. "The need I have to kiss you right now, is so high." He remarks, making sure his voice is low and hidden.
I smile and can't help the blush that overcomes my face. His thumb rubs my inner thigh and I look down to his hands watching how they move. Remembering how they felt inside me. "They're going to notice your staring again." He chuckles and I roll my eyes looking away.
"Aren't we going to lose more light now that we're more lost!" I speak up crossing my arms.
Steve points to me, "See! She's right, nice job Carver!" He puts out his hand for a high five and i give it to him a small smile on my face. Eddie's grip on my thigh goes tighter but Steve doesn't notice. "Guys, Tillys smart, unlike you all!" Nancy frowns and I nod, I am pretty smart.
I stand up and gesture for Dustin to show me the compass. "Dustin," I sigh, how did he not get this? "You follow wherever the arrow doesn't point, on the exact opposite of the arrow. Since the arrow is pointing North we go South."
Eddie gets up and puts his arm around my shoulders, looking back to Steve. "Yeah, you're the smartest girl I know, Princess." Eddie says, making sure Steve could hear. What is up with him? Steve only sees us as friends? I look up at Steve a small frown on my face. I hand Dustin his compass and we march on. I shrug off Eddie's arm and now he's the one scowling, "What!!?"
I scoff, "Why do you think something's up between Steve and I?" The group has made its way in front of us and we walk behind them to discuss. More like argue.
"Oh come on!" Eddie laughs, "You never see it do you? Your stuck in your own little world in you head. Do you know how many guys at Hawkins high die to just be in your presence?" My nose scrunches in disgust.
"As if!"
Eddie grabs my shoulders, stopping me from walking any further. "Oh my god Tilly! Your brother wards them all off! He's just never scared me." I look up at him my brows still furrowed, but my eyes softened. That's true. I just thought guys didn't like me, that they wanted nothing to do with me. I felt my eyes begin to water and his look of concern comes back. He pulls me into his embrace and whispers to me, "Im sorry." He sighs, and i try to breathe. He pulls away his hands still on my shoulders, "I will never freak out on you like that again." He smiles, "I think i just have jealousy issues." He makes me smile and we walk to the others who are now far ahead. He puts his hand on my lower back as we make our way.
I try to let the tension out, "You're always keeping your hands on me." I remark as we see the others in the distance chit chatting about something.
"Maybe because i'm afraid if I don't touch you.... You'll get away, and this Vecna will take you." He smiles and I look over at him. I feel myself step on my shoe lace and I put my arms out, fastly coming to the ground. I feel him grab the back of the jacket and pull me to him, he laughs, "Maybe the ground will swallow you though." I laugh with him and the group turns to us. His hands on my waist holding me up after i had fallen and my hands on his chest.
"Nancy! You owe me 10 bucks!"
"No! We agreed when we catch them kiss, i'll give you 10! Nah uh no way, they're just caught in a..." She snorts, "Moment!" All of them start laughing coming closer to the edge of the lake. I feel myself get red.
He comes and pulls me by my jaw, moving my ear closer to his lips. "Moment? Something? Sweetheart, we're going to have to put a label on this "thing" before I fuck you again." He walks away pulling me with him by his hand.
Holy shit. The hold this man has on me is undeniable.
We get to the edge of the lake, Dustin and Steve setting up the boat. Robin and Nancy hop in and so does Eddie. Eddie puts his hand out to help me into the boat and I great-fully accept it, "Thank you, sir."
"Princess." He says cheekily. I sit next to him, between him and Nancy. Robin on the other side facing me, raising her eyebrows up and down all suggestively, I choose to ignore it.
Dustin tries to hop in but Steve stops him, putting a hand on Dustin's chest, "Sorry dude, only four can fit. Help me get the boat off the sand." Dustin rolls his eyes and helps Steve. At the last minute Steve hops in the boat, rocking it slightly.
"Hey!" Dustin shouts waving his arms around, "I thought you said only four!"
We all laugh as they get smaller and we row away, "Sorry guys!" I shout.
"Don't stay up too late! Love you kiddos!" Robin shouts out making the two boys roll their eyes and Max glare at us.
We get to about the mid section of the lake till Robin shouts. We look at the compass and I say, "It's all wacky..."
"Nice choice of words." Nancy jokes and I roll my eyes.
Eddie adds, "I mean that's the best way to describe it."
Steve looks down in the water and stands up. We all watch him wondering what he's doing. "What are you doing?!" Nancy asks.
He starts to take his shirt off and Nancy goes wide eyed and my look of concern is on my face. I grab Eddie by the jaw and whisper in his ear, "His chest looks like a hairy beast." Eddie snorts and starts laughing causing me to let out a hushed giggle.
"I don't believe any of you had been captain of the swim team?" Steve says, blatantly showing off. I roll my eyes and so does Eddie. Eddie emory's out the bag we brought and wraps the plastic bag around the flashlight.
"I mean be careful bro." Eddie shrugs and Steve gives him a nod of solidarity. Steve then hops into the lake swimming down.
