How Victoria wishes she could've stayed home today.

Victoria walks down the school steps, pushing past jeering and snickering students as she made her way around the back of the school.
Leaning against the wall, she slides to the ground, hugging her knees while trying to keep her cries silent.
Why was she so emotional today??
She sat like that for a while, until a certain someone noticed her.
"Hey, are you okay?"
It was Ned.
The boy sits beside her as she sniffles and wipes her eyes.
"Yup. Yeah, I'm fine. Wassup?"
He looks at her, frowning.
"Don't do that."
"D-do what?" She was honestly confused.
"Don't go running around like your fine," he tells her, shaking his head.
"Peter did that all the time after his uncle died. And you can ask him, it's not healthy. It's important that you let in your feelings, whatever those might be."
"Are you trying to subtlety ask me if I like you back?" Vic laughs lightly, looking down at her hands.
"Right now, out of literally any other time ever?"
"What? No! No, no, I was just saying-"
"It's fine!" The girl laughs, nudging his shoulder playing fully. "I was just teasing. I mean..that's what people do, right? When they're dating?"
In Victoria's words; the huge smile that crossed Ned's face after hearing those words was adorable.
"Thanks," Vic says quietly, laying her head on Ned's shoulder for a moment before standing up.
"I should probably get going."
"Oh! Yeah, yeah, um..." the boy chuckles nervously.
"See you tomorrow."
