❝I want meaning.❞
THIRTEEN
A CAGE━━━━━━━━━━━
Since he was a child, there had always been something wrong with (Y/N). It was subtle, like a creeping sword; his indifference, and apathy toward others.
Every punishment came with a beating, every reward only left behind dissatisfaction.
He, who always was a bit too mature for his age, eventually completely shut off his emotions. Like a switch that broke and couldn't go back, he didn't care for himself, his parents, and even the world anymore.
It was all dull.
Grey.
The darkness of an endless night.
But then he met Kim Dokja, and it was like he never knew what happiness truly felt like until he saw those eyes, that smile, his sunshine-like face.
He didn't have meaning. He didn't have a reason to live. But Kim Dokja made life happy; he made it worth living. There would be no life without Kim Dokja, there would be no happiness without Kim Dokja, there would be no reason to live without him.
'I am nothing without Kim Dokja.'
He knew that, he knew it so very well.
But even if his reason for living is all because of someone else.
Even if he will always put himself below the people he cares for.
Even if he will hate himself so much he's willing to hand away his entire life to be used by someone else.
Even if it means all of that, (Y/N) doesn't care. It's not like he even cared for himself in the first place.
So he will hand away his power, his devotion, and his very life, and destroy his identity in the process.
But his devotion is one-sided.
Kim Dokja is (Y/N)'s number one on his list.
But he wasn't his.
And that's okay, because (Y/N) has already accepted it.
"(Y/N)."
Or perhaps he's just been waiting for someone to tell him it was okay to take a rest now; that a monster like himself, too, had the right to let go.
