The weather is awful today you think as you continue to sweep your family dojo. You were left to take care of it after your parents died a few years ago. You still blame yourself for their death. If you didn't sneak out that night they would have never left the house in a panic and got hit by the car. It wasn't the crash though that killed them but that they drowned because the wreck pushed them off of the bridge into the rushing water. Whenever it rained it always made you remember getting that phone call in the middle of the night from the police telling you that your parents died.
You let out a harsh sneeze or two from all the dust you were sweeping up.
"My dad would be so upset if he saw how the dojo looks now,". I'm always gone and never have time to keep it in shape. Maybe I should rent it out to someone. That would surely keep it in better shape you thought to yourself.
CRASH!! An almost thunder nose was made extremely close to the dojo but you didn't exactly believe it was thunder because there was no lighting that followed. You pick the broom up like it was a staff. Your family owned a dojo so of course, you know a few moves. You slowly start walking through the dojo listening to every little noise and trying to hush your breath the best you could.
When you walk into the backroom you saw the window was broken. That was not thunder. Way too much blood for breaking in through a window. You follow the blood until it goes to a closet door that was shut. Whoever broke in was behind that door.
Before opening the door you freeze. What if the person was just hurt and was looking for a place to wait out the rain in. The dojo did look abounded. They were also clearly hurt so it's not like they would be much of a threat...right? Instead of the original plan to attack first when you open the door, you decided to knock on the door.
"Hey, whoever is in there you need to leave." You say with a hint of worry in your voice because you would hate to have said that if the person was seriously hurt.
The door opens and you see...
