You wake up to the smell of bacon from the kitchen. It smelled like heaven but... it was only you and the monkey in the house. You quickly get up making your head a little dizzy and run to the kitchen. You enter the kitchen and see the monkey hard at work cooking breakfast. Nothing seemed to be burnt or on fire so you let out your breath that you didn't notice you were holding in.
"I didn't say you could use the kitchen," you say as you watch his tail sway side to side while hearing your voice.
"And I said I was going to make myself at home and just like at my home, I cook breakfast," he says while spreading plum jelly on a piece of toast.
"That's strange, I didn't know there were kitchens and cooking utensils in dumpsters," you say while walking over and grabbing the piece of toast and taking a bite of it.
"And since you're using my food I will be eating the food you cook," you say while smirking at him and walking out of the room. The monkey said nothing as you left him speechless which made you very proud because he always had some kind of smart remark coming from his mouth. That was a short-lived feeling.
"Nice bed head," he says, which makes you blush as you walk faster, hoping he doesn't notice the change in your pace to the bathroom to fix your hair.
When you walk back into the kitchen you notice the table was all set with two spots. The food was put on the plates neatly but he wasn't anywhere to be seen. You sit down in what you hoped was your spot. You really didn't want to embarrass yourself anymore today. You start to eat the bacon on your plate and to no surprise, you start choking because you zoned out. As you start to stand up and run to the kitchen you hit a brick wall.
"Easy there," the monkey says as he hands you one of the two cups he had of plum juice. After chugging it so you wouldn't die you notice you never buy anything plum flavored so where did he get this?
"You didn't steal this plum juice or jam did you,?"
He looks at you and laughs, "No I didn't steal it, I just borrowed it." he wipes under his eye and then says, "also shouldn't you be saying thank you because I sorta kinda just saved your life,"
You were now furious, what he did was nothing compared to what you helped him with and the fact you literally saved his life.
"Okay... I don't have to say crap to you," You say pointing a finger at him. "I have done way more than giving you a cup of juice and you haven't said thank you at all. Matter of fact you have just been making everything more awful for me," You said. You looked up at him and saw his smile didn't even falter but if you looked at his eyes you could tell he felt awful. You take a breath and let it out.
"All I'm asking for is for you to not make this harder for me, okay?" You ask.
"I never asked for your help... I should have never accepted someone's help because now I'm just in more debt," he whispered, which you could barely hear.
"What?" you ask but got no reply as he vanished into the ground to only god knows where.
You look at the table and notice he cooked a lot of meat but he only had toast on his plate while you had sausage, bacon, and eggs. He woke up this morning to cook for you, not himself. You ate the food as you would feel even worse to let it go to waste. As you take your last bite of eggs you start to clean up the table and walk to the kitchen sink to put the plates. You notice a receipt on the table that had the plum products the monkey said he "burrowed". He paid for it you think while looking at the receipt. Why does he act like such a bad guy? If he just said what he really did and meant I would have never raised my voice at him. You grab your hoodie off the couch and go to search for the monkey because the guilt was eating you alive. Such simple misunderstandings can lead to such drastic actions which sometimes can't be undone but you were definitely going to try to fix it. You ran around the whole city even going onto tops of roofs to search up there and even looking and digging through dumpsters because of how desperate you were to find your runaway monkey. You start to give up hope as you walk towards your dojo praying he would be there.
When you walk in, the inside of the place looks polished to perfection. You swear you could see your reflection on the floor. You keep walking throughout the dojo and then notice noise coming from the supply closet which is where you found your monkey friend in the first place. You open the door to see the monkey's hand and knees scrubbing up the blood he left behind from the first night you meet him.
"Hey..." you say but he doesn't respond.
"Look, I'm sorry for losing my temper. We just need to lay some ground rules that we both agree on," he still doesn't respond. You go back to the couch you have and sit down waiting for him to finish cleaning. Soon enough he walks in and looks straight at you.
"I cleaned this whole place so you don't have to, I'm sorry for being rude but now I have no debt to you so I will be leaving," he says. After not responding to you that's the only thing he had to say. He has the audacity to be a bitch and then just head out without saying thank you still. You stand up and grab his arm, forcing him to stop.
"You never were in debt to me, I never helped you thinking I was going to get something in return." You say as he looks at you without his normal awful smile. His face was much better looking when he didn't have an evil grin on it.
"I just want you to show me respect and to just be nice, so please don't leave," you are now looking at the ground trying to avoid eye contact.
"Macaque," is all he said before tilting your face up.
"Macaque is my name," he says, looking away from you.
"Well, Macaque, I hope you will stay with me until you're all better... I won't force you to though,"
"How could I ever say no to such a cute face like yours," he says leaning closer to me before saying "especially when you want me to stay so bad, y/n" he breathes onto your ear before pulling back.
"See you at home," was that last thing he said before falling to the floor and leaving you alone while your face was as red as his scarf but how does he know your name? You never told him it.

Sorry, this chapter was short. I wanted to update it but my friend/editor person who makes sure I don't look stupid was busy so I didn't want to do too much without her but really wanted to write something to update the story. I should update this at least one more time this week if not more. Hope you enjoy it.
