Chapter 2

Kaminari thought for a moment, "Hmm, ooh! Can we play operation?! Do you have it?"

"Yeah, it's one of Eri's favorite games." 

Shinsou got up, and walked to the living room to get the game.

Denki sat, waiting impatiently. It'd been too long. His mother had banned games from the house because he got too excited, and excitement meant loud.

Shinsou walked back into the room, a stack of board games in his hands.

"I've got it," he announced, "I also brought my cat." he held up a chubby light brown cat. 

"His name is peanut." Hitoshi said proudly.

He laughed, flushing pink again, "You sound so proud of that name, it's hilarious." 

He stopped mid-laugh, covering his mouth, "Oh, sorry. I got carried away."

Shinsou gave him a concerned look, "You're allowed to show emotions you know."

He looked at Shinsou, "I know, it's just one of her rules, but I slip up sometimes."

"The more you talk about your mother, the more I hate her." 

Shinsou took a deep breath and sat down, "You can show emotions.">

He shrugged, "I mean, I guess but I'd rather not at this point."

"Emotions are what makes you human... Oh my god that sounded so cheesy." he laughed.

Kami laughed with him, "It really did."

"Your laugh is really cute." 

Shinsou froze, "Uh- I mean nice, and interesting." 

He looked down, cheeks burning as he set up the game.

He turned deep red, sitting next to the purple haired boy in silence. He realized they'd been sitting so close, their legs touching. He flushed deeper, just like he had when Shinsou had grabbed his arm before. He scooted farther away by an inch, watching as he set the game up carefully.

"Okay, I'm done setting it up." 

Shinsou set the cards down and picked one from the top.

 "Adam's Apple, 200 dollars," he read. 

He leaned down, closer to the game and tried to carefully pull out the piece. BEEP!

Denki jumped, startled before laughing, "Oh my god, Shin. Almost immediately?!"

"I know, I know. I'm really bad at this," he said jokingly, "Now are you gonna go?"

Kami grinned, "Watch this." 

He focused on the stem of the apple first. If he grabbed it, even if only a little, he could move it. When he got it to move, it was easy as pie to pull out of the hole. 

Denki took the card, placing the piece back in the bag, "Suck it."

"Ha, watch this," he grabbed the tweezers, going for the wrenched ankle. 

Almost immediately, the buzzer went off.

Kaminari wheezed, "All bark, no bite. My turn." 

He grabbed the tweezers, steadily grabbing the wrench, making use of the gap in the center. He pulled it out.

"Alright, time for the broken heart," Shinsou announced.

He concentrated, moving slower than before. 

Eventually, the piece came out, "Ha, all bark, no bite huh? Do you think you can beat that?"

He rolled his eyes, "Shinsou, you're talking to the Operation Champion he-"
