Hold On

The ride home was quiet until Danni asks to stop at the store. When she gets back in the car her phone rings again and she takes yet another call.

"So what was that phone call about?" Spencer asks.

"I don't really want to talk about it."

"Figures. You want to talk to everyone but me. I feel like I'm in this relationship alone." He confesses.

"Really? You're going there after you left me for months for football?"

"To set up my CAREER D! Not to do anything else! And we already had this conversation, I've always made time for you so what really is it Danni? Do you want to be with me or do you want to be elsewhere?"

She doesn't respond she just looks at him as they sit at the table.

"ANSWER ME!" He yells.

"Okay what we not gone do is start yelling!" She yells back.

"You just yelled back so I guess we're going there."

"Fine! Spencer let's go there! Why would you bring me to that mixer knowing good and dang well that Olivia was gonna be there? Are you trying to make me jealous?? I don't like the way you look at her and don't tell me it's nothing because I know a longing look when I see it."

"Why wouldn't I bring my girlfriend to a mixer? And on the Olivia front that's my friend, yes she's a beautiful woman but I wouldn't disrespect something we are trying to work on. I know you wouldn't have wanted me to go there alone."

"Leaving me alone is what you do best! I'm not about to be nobody's second option Spencer!"

"Oh like you're doing me? You have time for everyone in your call log except your man. When I try to get close to you and spend time with you, you push away? So' who's really alone?"

Just then her phone buzzes on the table. Spencer grabs it in frustration and sees that it's Dillon calling instantly making him hot.

"Why are you calling my girl." Spencer blurts.

"Your girl, that's funny because your girl has been in my bed the last few months."

"Are you serious? After all we been through together you go behind my back and sleep with my girl?"

"You wasn't providing and I gave what she needed. Face it bro y'all relationship is done."

"You gotta be a sick individual to sleep with someone else's woman and then be okay with sneaking around with them. Out of all the girls in Cali you chose Danni huh."

"I don't know what you want me to say."

"Don't say nothing. I'm done with the both of you."

He hangs up and throws the phone.

Danni says "Spencer I"

"No save it, here I thought maybe it was just work, or maybe some family issue but no you been sneaking around. It makes sense now, no fish no drinking. You pregnant aren't you. Huh?"

She's quiet.

"Now you can't speak? But a while ago you had all the words on phone. And all the smoke for me."

Still no words.

"Go get a test. Now!" Spencer says slamming his hand on the kitchen table.

She pulls a test out of her purse. "I don't have to go far I have one here."

About 15 minutes later Danni comes out of the bathroom with a positive pregnancy test. She hands it to Spencer. "It's positive." She whispers.
