Camp fire ended and we went to the Aphrodite Cabin. It had a painted roof, with pillars and a blue-and-white checkerboard deck with steps and grey walls.
A girl by the name of Piper McLean introduced herself and bid me welcome.
"Come on," said she, cheerfully, "Here, your bed." She pointed at a bunk bed, the lower one was empty, and carried on, "This is Drew Tanaka-" she pointed at a girl who had a (kind of?) cruel smile-,"This is, as you know, Allen. That's Lacy and the one behind her is Mitchell. And that's Valentina swooning over another celebrity."
I nodded, trying to process the information.
"You can ask Allen or me anything. You must be sleepy, yes? Go to bed, I'll call lights out. Oh, and your clothes will change after the 'blessing' from mum is over. Happened to me too," she tried to comfort me.
I smiled and dropped on my bed as she called lights out, quickly falling asleep.
Almost a week passed, after my clothes decided to come back. I made a fool of myself then by singing, "My clothes came back! Yay!", but only Allen was present when that happened. Allen was kind of like my best friend.
Allen didn't go well with people because he had social anxiety, which was rare since Aphrodite children are good at speaking and socials. Allen told me each child of Aphrodite had a power, and usually, they weren't strong enough to be needed to stay year-round. But Allen and Dila, stayed. They never went back to the mortal world. When asked why, Allen explained that they were way to powerful than normal, and their mortal parent kicked them out.
Allen could control anyone's desires. Sexual ones. He could also see the desire without trying to control them and knew people's secret crushes and everything.
And before I could ask, he said that I didn't have any crushes yet.
Other than desires, he could also control people's cloth size, for as long as he wanted, which was super rare.
Dila could control make-up and shapeshift her hair into any color, size, cut as she liked. She usually had it as waist length dirty blonde hair.
After Allen said all those, I sat in silence before saying, "Wish I had as cool powers as you."
To which he just laughed and got up; telling me it was time for lunch.
