Chapter 7 : The Crystal of Hope

While the Dragons were resting inside a cave in Northern Mountain, both Chris and Jackson came out of their room with Chris still smiling from their sweet little moment. When Prisma saw this, he asked "Uhh... Jackson, don't mean to be rude, but why is your wolf husband smiling like that?" Hearing this, he answered "Oh it's nothing Prisma. We're just having a little moment to ourselves. Am I right Kitty?" while winking at him. Chris just rolled his eyes and replied "Yeah, yeah we're just having a little moment to ourselves."

Then, Chris turned to Sakura and asked "By the way Sakura, why would you and your friends go to the Heart of Everblade anyway? You know that place is forbidden, right?" Jackson agreed and said "He's right. Only Royalty Dragons are allowed to be there." Then, Sakura showed them her birthmark "Not when I have this."

When Chris and Jackson saw Sakura's birthmark, they were super shocked, then Jackson asked "W-wait a second, you're a R-Royalty Dragon!?" Sakura answered calmly "Yes, yes I am." After she telled them what happened before from Freshwater Valley, both of them were surprised then Chris asked "So let me get this straight Sakura. Your father is King Drex and he abandoned you, right before you were born, just because your gender's a girl?"

Sakura nodded, then Jackson replied "Th-that's the most ridiculous excuse I ever heard! A-and also, did you said you need Everblade Crystal shards?" Athena replied "Yes, she needs all 4 of those crystal shards to prove that she's worthy for the crown." Hearing this, Chris suddenly asked "Is the Everblade Crystal a violet-coloured amethyst, with a small golden clasp ring on top of it?" Athena was a little shocked and answered "Y-yes Chris, the golden clasp is used to connect all the crystal shards to form a necklace. How did you know?"

After realizing this, Chris frowned and said sadly "I-I think I have just what you need. Be back in a second." He left to get a small brown chest that was inside a secret compartment in his room. He opened the chest and inside it was a crystal shard. When he held up the shard and show it to the Dragons, Blaze answered "That's the exact crystal we need for Sakura. Chris, is it okay for us to have your crystal shard?"

Chris looked at it then turned back to the Dragons. He shooked his head and answered in a calm, gentle voice while holding the crystal tight "I'm sorry, but I can't give you this crystal. This thing's the reason we were able to live in this cave." Jackson agreed with him and replied "He's right. This crystal is the reason we get to live here." Then, Chris began to tell the Dragons their backstory.

"You see, back then our parents forbidded us to love each other, since both of our packs were arch enemies. When we both first met each other at the flower fields, we kinda bonded and realized that we were meant to be together. We dated in secret for 2 years until our parents found out. After finding out about our secret, our parents disowned us and we were kicked out of their packs. So back then, we were homeless for 3-4 months with no shelter, until we found this violet crystal. It's inside a tree hollow at a nearby forest when we were both searching for food."

"This crystal gave us hope in finding a new home and after a week or two, we found this cave in Northern Mountain, and it became a place for us to live. So you see, this is why to us, it's not just a normal crystal. It's actually a light of hope for us to find our new home, so that's why we live here until now."

After hearing their story, Sakura stood up. She nodded and replied in a calming voice "You know what guys? You were right. It's more then just a regular crystal. It's a symbol of hope as well. You two were kicked out from your own packs, in order to be together. And since you found that crystal, it gave you guys hope in living in this cave as your home. I'll tell you what." Then, Sakura grabbed something from her satchel and show it to Chris and Jackson.

"This, is MY symbol of hope. I actually made these fairy lights when I was a young Dragon hatchling. It's made out of 3 special items I found from Freshwater Valley, which are snowdrops, pearls, and a silver string. So let's make a trade. I'll give you two MY hope in exchange for your. What do you say?" Chris and Jackson both looked at the crystal then turned back to Sakura with a smile. Jackson nodded and answered "You've got yourself a deal. You'll give us your hope, and we'll give you ours." while handing the crystal to Sakura.
