It had been a week since that night where I told Sofia I knew her dirty little secret.

Since I asked her to let me go.

We had been living in the same house since then as we have not discussed who is actually going to leave and what we would do with the house that we jointly own.

But I hadn't told Sofia that I had found a rental apartment a few miles away and signed the lease for 3 months to give us time to work out all the details with the house.

I was getting the keys tomorrow.

I was not trying to purposely not tell her, but she hadn't exactly been home much.

She was either actively avoiding me, or out with...

I couldn't even think his name.

After that night and Sofia crying so much she feel asleep in my arms, I carried her to our bed, and tucked her in.

Her phone fell out of her pocket on the way and there was unread messages for her flashing on her home screen. Numerous ones, one which said "wish you didn't have to leave so soon, I was gearing up for round two".

It was through these messages that I learnt his name.

After tucking her into bed and placing her phone on the nightstand I went to the guest room, I didn't sleep a single wink that night.

And I haven't slept much in the last 7 days either.

People in work are starting to notice that something is up as my usual chipper disposition has very quickly disappeared and they note I don't spend my lunch hour on the phone to my fiancé anymore, I just work through and eat my lunch at my desk. Which at present consists of a diet coke and snack bar. I haven't exactly had much of an appetite lately.

I was looking over the email from the rental agent about what time I could collect the keys and the code to get into the apartment and a few other rules and regulations that they had when there was a knock on my office door.

"Hey Y/n" standing in the door way of my work office door was my best friend and business partner, Ashley.

I look up from my emails and glance at the door.

"Hey Ashley " I reply, before clicking off the email I previously had open.

"Can I talk to you?" she asks gently.

"Ugh yeah, sure" I respond nervously, I hadn't told my best friend yet. Truth be told I hadn't told anyone.

Telling people meant that it was all real.

Every single part of it.

From the affair.

To the break up.

To me moving out.

It would all be real.

Ashley walked in and closed the door and started taking steps towards me. It was then she came into full view and I noticed the brown paper bag in her hand.

I chance a look at it, she tosses me the bag.

My reflexes are pretty good, I catch it.

"Lunch, you have lost weight and not been eating" Ashley takes a seat on the chair across from me.

"Well eat!" She says expectantly and demandingly, motioning with her hands towards the bag.

I look inside.

It's a bento box from next door. My usual go to for lunch.

I take it out.

The smell use to make me salivate. But now it just makes me feel sick.
