Into the Woods

Chapter 7

Wren's POV

A week later.

I woke up in a room surrounded by white concrete walls, with a small window in the corner. My head ached, and my muscles were sore. Slowly getting up from the cold floor, I look down at myself. I had been changed into a flowy, long white dress, which was slightly dirtied from my rolling around the floor during my forced sleep.

Barefoot, I padded to the window and looked out to see a forest going on for miles and miles. It would have been a beautiful place if I had not been kidnapped and put here. The sun was shining, and I felt the warmth on face and let it soak in. My brown hair was matted but still in it's waves, though it had turned dull. I had turned voiceless the few days I had been here. There was no one to talk to besides myself and the mice that I gave my food to.

No one had come to visit me.

It was kind of depressing, really. Being kidnapped, and wishing for my kidnapper to see me. I had no idea why I was wherever I was. I missed Corey and his warm hugs, and I missed sleeping with him at night, and I missed wearing his sweatpants and sweaters... I just missed Corey in general. A tear rolled down my eye, and I closed my eyes to refrain myself from sobbing.

'No, Wren. Be strong. We can make it through this," encourages a voice in my head. There's been this voice in my head since the past week, and I can't figure out what it is.

'Who are you?" I ask. There's no reply. Suddenly, there's a knock on the door to my room. Sliding away from the window, I make my way the center of the room as the door is opened. A young man steps inside. He has blonde hair, and is buff. There's something off about him, though. Studying him quickly, I realize that his eyes are pitch black. Not only the pupils, but also the sclera. There is no other color but black in his eyes. I shiver in fear, not knowing what was about to come my way.

"You must come now," he mutters in a deep voice. Scared, I take small steps towards him. "Come," he growls, making me walk faster as I trembled. He grabbed my wrist and pulled me out the door and down the stairs, with me stumbling a couple times. I silently pleaded for him to slow down, but of course, he didn't hear me.

The young man shoved me inside a small room, and once again, I almost fall flat on my face. Turning around, I looked questioningly at the guard, but all he did was slowly back out of the room and close the door. Pivoting back to the new room, I freeze in horror.

The room was filled with torture devices. There were shackles chained to the wall, a perfect square so when a person was hung up, their limbs would be spread far apart. In the corner was a metal table, with a small fireplace and huge stamp looking things, I'm guessing for branding words and images. Different types of knives and whips were hung onto the wall, and I shiver not knowing what was going to happen to me. The door behind me opens, then closes.

"Ah, my sweet pea is here," sneers a high-pitched voice. I slowly turn around. The man that had killed Li was now in front of me. "Hmm, so beautiful, so thin... imagine the things that I could do with you." I slightly gag in response.

"Guards, hang her up," he said, motioning to the bulky men behind him. They grab my wrists and haul me over to the wall, where I twist and turn, trying to escape their grip. They had me up there in no time. Being a petite girl, my limbs really had to stretch to reach those chains. After only being up here for less than 3 minutes, I was already uncomfortable.

"Alright, let's start, my sweet."
