Naruto noticed a hand touching his own. Turning over, he noticed that Sayuri had taken his hand in hers.
He gently removed his hand from her grasp and rubbed the sleep out of his eyes. Rolling out of his sleeping bag and onto the leathery tent, he groaned.
Naruto sluggishly began to roll up the sleeping bag to store later, accidentally knocking over his canteen, which clattered on the floor.
"Ugh," Naruto groaned. Unscrewing the cap, he gulped down the water, opening the tent.
"How's waking up, Naruto?" Sasuke was packing up, his sleeping bag already sealed and the campfire gone.
Naruto twitched. "You know just as well as I do that I'm no morning person," he stated.
"Of course," Sasuke replied. "I just wanted to poke fun at your conscious patterns. Here." Naruto was met with a large cascade of water splashing on his face. Above, he heard the distinct poof of a shadow clone, and the clatter of a bucket.
"I'm not amused." A rustle came from Kakashi's tent as the man in question adjusted his mask. Kurenai stepped out from her own tent, already disassembling her tent with two Kakashi's.
"Ah, hello, my cute little genin. How was sleeping?" He smiled.
"It was way better than waking up, that's for sure," Naruto grumbled. Kakashi chuckled at that.
Hinata stepped in, fully alert. She had a folded up tent in her hands, her sleeping bag already rolled up.
"So we're ready to go?" she inquired.
"Yeah, when everyone else wakes up." Sayuri walked out from her tent, forming a cross-shaped seal.
Clone.
With a small whisper that Naruto didn't bother to decipher, three Sayuri's appeared, each disassembling the stakes which pinned the tent to the ground with complete ease, allowing Sayuri to fold up the tent, which disappeared with a puff of smoke.
"Good morning, Naruto," Sayuri greeted, smiling.
"Hey, Sayuri," Naruto replied. He exhaled and waved to her, which she returned.
Kakashi leaned into Sasuke's ear and whispered something, and Sasuke nodded. What was that about?
"So," Naruto began. "Do you think that we'll get attacked by anyone else?"
Kakashi put a hand up to his chin, almost like he was scratching at an imaginary beard. "No, I don't think so. The chunin were interrogated and said nothing about a third accomplice. Although," Kakashi paused. "If they did have a third accomplice, I couldn't see it being anyone but Zabuza Momochi. The three of them did team up to assassinate the Mizukage."
Naruto pulled a book out of Kakashi's pocket. Fortunately, it was not Kakashi's orange comfort read, but a jet-black book with the Konoha symbol in pale silver. The title read: 'Bingo Book Edition 15, Newest Edition as of 2/21/72'. The most recent edition. Of course, the year slot was occupied by how many years it had been since the year Konoha had been founded.
Flipping through the pages, Naruto reached the near-end of the book, with a certain entry.
"Zabuza Momochi," Naruto read aloud. "An S-rank, former member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen before attempting to assassinate the Mizukage, alongside Gozu and Meizu. See pages 220 and 401. A master at silent killing, water ninjutsu, and kenjutsu." Naruto folded the book shut and handed it back to Kakashi, who pocketed it. "I just hope that we won't have to fight him."
Sakura emerged, giving her tent back to Naruto, who sealed it. "Fight who?"
"Zabuza Momochi."At this, Sakura paled immensely.
