A flash of white, followed by sparks.
Wha- Kakashi-sensei? Kakashi had blocked Zabuza's sword with his kunai, but he was visibly strained. His headband was lifted, revealing a sharingan with all three tomoe.
"Naruto. Please do not ever attempt to fight so far out of your league ever again," Kakashi said, straining under the weight of the sword.
Zabuza kicked Kakashi and sent him skidding across the water.
Zabuza flickered to Kakashi, running through a set of hand seals.
Snake- Ram- Horse- Hare- Ram-
He cut himself short as Kakashi had escaped his grasp and returned to land.
He huffed, a Zabuza appearing into the circle of Tazuna, Hinata, Kiba, and Shino.
Sayuri blocked Zabuza's blade with her own. Sasuke had drawn his bow, and fired three electric arrows.
All three slammed into Zabuza and he fell limp on the floor. His form contorted into a puddle.
Zabuza leapt back from his exchange with Kakashi. "Humph. All I want is the bridge builder. You give him to me, and you all can go free."
"Zabuza, you know I can't do that." Kakashi responded.
"Oh? Then show me what you can do, the Copy ninja with over one thousand jutsu, Kakashi of the Sharingan," he commented.
They both formed the seal of confrontation, a one-handed tiger seal. Chakra rolled off of them in oppressive waves, coalescing and mixing together into an impregnable aura.
Naruto grabbed his sword and jumped away from both of them.
Zabuza slammed the blunt end of his sword into Kakashi, sending him flying onto the lake.
Kakashi sidestepped a sword swing, slashing Zabuza's arm with a kunai.
A water clone burst out from the water, grappling Kakashi. Zabuza ran through hand seals, completely unfazed by the group of genin moving to assault him.
Snake- Ram- Horse- Hare- Ram- Horse- Hare- Snake- Ox, finished by Zabuza clapping.
With one hand extended, water flowed upwards and swirled with turbulence, which eventually formed a full sphere around Kakashi.
"Damn," was Kiba's dignified response.
Several clones erupted from the water and dashed toward the group.
They were all dispatched, courtesy of Sasuke, Kiba, and Hinata.
"Fang Passing Fang!" Kiba roared. He and Akamaru turned into a spinning, swirling twister which shredded whatever clone they came across.
Hinata was a touch more subtle, one-tapping all of them with lethal Gentle Fist blows.
One more sprouted, and when Sasuke shot an arrow at it, it was caught.
A flash of inspiration ran through Naruto's mind.
Naruto gave Sayuri and Sasuke a sidelong glance.
"You've got a plan?" Naruto nodded. Naruto formed one hand seal.
Clone.
A whole squadron of clones appeared, numbering seventy strong. And while Zabuza was dealing with all the clones, one hung back and transformed into a shuriken.
By the time the last clone had dispelled- Ouch that hurt- Sayuri had unfurled a full demon wind shuriken, ready to throw at Zabuza.
Which she did. The shuriken completely bypassed Zabuza's clone, moving around it, towards the original.
