Chapter 03: A Warm Hearted Friend

Sonic's Pov:

I got home with knuckles, and I saw tails still snoozing in peace. In his table. Tsk tsk. "Hey knuckles could you pick up tails and move him in his bed?" I asked knuckles since I don't have the strength to pick him up. Yeah I get it I'm not that strong.

 "Sure" knuckles replied and lifted up tails. He's very careful with it, in that point he didn't want to wake the kid up.

I thanked knuckles after that, and sat on the couch. Turned on the TV and started to switch channels. I didn't have anything to do anyway. "Oh and sonic have you eaten breakfast yet?" Knuckles asked, He usually ask this question but I didn't mind at all honestly. "Uh no?" I replied.

"God damn you're still not hungry?!"

"I- honestly kind of hungry hehe-" I awkwardly laughed.

  Knuckles facepalmed, Clearly annoyed. "And you're not saying anything?!" He hates it. And you can already see how caring he was at his friends, He will make sure that we eat well and Also sleep well. He really deserves someone to love him, But not as a friend. I meant MORE than a friend. "Please next time don't keep that mouth shut, Cuz I made some pancakes for you two"

Yes! His pancakes are the best if you would ask me! "Alright!!!" I said happily, Once he saw that I was already eating, he already left the house.

 While eating, I thought about shadow. I can't stop thinking about him though. For the very first time...He Showed this side of him at long last, And to my surprise. He revealed this side to his rival! Which is me. Seems like I'm a lucky guy. Right..?

As Time goes by and I'm still here thinking about him, Yes I cannot stop myself. And already going deep at my thoughts.  

Apparently I had this stupid idea, Because of what shadow said to me earlier. It wasn't that important but..f*ck it. I still wanna make it up to him!

Shadow is staring at his ceiling almost an hour now, He can't erase that memory inside of his head. He didn't understand if sonic really likes him? Or he's just..drunk. Or perhaps out of lust? He still wished that sonic had the same feelings for him.

 Surprisingly, He instantly realized something. It was the day when he first saw sonic smiling, He felt like all of his problems suddenly vanished. It was just because of a smile he saw for the first time, It's true that he had seen a few people smile but..this? This is a rare one for him. However, He didn't immediately think of that, Since he's too focused to his painful past. Which really breaks his heart.

No. He wants to avenge Maria. He still can't get over it... Then suddenly his phone vibrated. His ears perked up, And groaned. Who texted him? He didn't expect someone to text him though.

  He grabbed his phone and turned it on. It was Sonic. Without thinking he immediately texted back.

Sonic: Hey shadow!

 Shadow: What do you want now

Sonic: Awwe c'mon shads! I just wanna talk about what you said earlier!

Shadow: Earlier?

Sonic: yeah, you said "And you owe me. Because you're really heavy to carry.."

  Shadow already pushed that thoughts aside, Earlier. Before welcoming the blue hedgehog again in his mind.

Shadow: I said that?

 Sonic: Yes and..I wanna make it up to you!

Shadow: Oh, no don't worry about it.

 Sonic: Pleaaaaase shadowww I really REALLY wanna make it up to you please!!

Sonic pleaded, He felt bad after shadow helped him last night. Because even though shadow hated him, He still managed to help him.

Shadow: fine. Shadow finally accepted sonic's offer. He didn't liked the idea, But a part of his mind kinda likes it.

Sonic: Yey! I'll go to your house at 6:00 pm then

 'Wait? What?' Shadow thought, He did not know that the blue hero had such a plan. As he thought that sonic was going to give him a gift or something else, But this is the offer that he will actually receive directly.

Shadow smiled.

 He swiftly remembered something from his past. Again, He's with Maria.

-Flashback- 

"Shadow, Please..just let me make it up to you!" Maria pleaded, Since shadow had helped her once again. Maria didn't know how to thank him, So she come up with an idea. "N-No..i might not accept that. A 'Thank you' is already enough, Maria.." Shadow debated. "Please..? Just this once!"

Shadow cannot resist his friend, He finally gave up. "Fine." "Yey! Now come on now shadow!"

-End of Flashback- 

It was one of his precious and important memories with Maria, He really misses her. From time to time. At that, He dropped a tear, No one will know how much Maria means to him.

 What more could we ask for a warmth hearted friend like them..?
