"Are you okay?" Jackson greeted me at the school entrance.
"Yep, I love being in a wheel chair,"I smiled, he laughed.
"Do you want me to help get your books?" He asked.
"That would be great," I said. I give him the key to my locker and he gets my books as I pointlessly sat out side looking like an idiot because the bell hasn't gone get. I see one of Jackson's mates, Sam, come towards me. "Pops, I need to talk you,"
"Can't it wait!" I said.
"It's urgent," he pushes my wheelchair away.
"But.." I have no control,so I can't stop him.
Sam stopped the wheelchair when we were in the court yard.
"Okay....so you know I'm Jackson's mate ....and we talk about girls..." Sam said.
"And your point is..."
"Wait! I'm coming that part....and he tells me who he likes..."Sam carries on talking.
"Why do I need to know this?" I ask.
"Because....because.....because..HE LIKES YOU," Sam shouts.
"I need proof," I reply.
"Fine," Sam sighs. Sam lead me to Jackson's locker, he spent 3 minutes playing with the lock, when it eventually opened. He began shuffling books around until he found a notebook.
"Yes," he said with a sigh of relief.
"It's just a notebook, why are you so happy?" I say. He smiled.
"Okay, so where is it?" He said, I was still confused.
"Where is what?" I asked.
"Yep, here it is," Sam showed me a page, it said:
Well...I kind of like girl, her name is Poppy, but I can't ask her out as every time it feels awkward and I'm scared that she will say no.Also I have a girlfriend...
"That's a bit weird," I say.
"He writes down all his feelings down in a notebook, but nobody knows apart from me..." Sam explains.
"Are you sure it's not a different Poppy?" I ask.
"You are the only Poppy, in this school," he laughs, but I don't get the joke.
He looks at his watch and then looks at me,"We already 20 minutes late for Chemistry," he says as he pushes my wheel chair around the corridor. I waved the notebook in his face, his face turns to shock,"I thought you had put the notebook back," he says,"we are going to have to hide it". He zipped open his bag and stuffed the notebook in.
"Where have you both been?"asked Jackson, as we entered Chemistry.
"Errr..."I say.
"Well...Poppy felt ill so I took her to the receptionist, but she feels much better now," Sam interrupts me. I nod.
After Chemistry had finished, Jackson pushed me towards his locker, to change his school books. Jackson paused,"Why is my locker left half open ?" I pretend that I don't know what was happened,"But I swear I usually lock my locker?" He said.
"I have no idea, what you are going on about," I reply. He began shuffling his school books round.
"It's not here, oh my god! What the hell? I swear... I put it in here...wait hating on!" He started to run.
"Wait you can't leave me here," I say.
"I won't a minute, I have to find Sam," he begins to run again.
Three popular girls strolled towards me, I started pushing my wheelchair back as the three girls are coming closer and closer."Hi," I manage to say. One of the girls lifts me of my wheelchair and places me in the bin. I try to get out, but my back aches and I can't feel my legs, there is no point it asking for help. Then one of the muscly girls takes me out of the bin holds me against a ruby pole. The other two girls tie my hands and legs together, I try to tell put the put masking tape on my mouth. The three girls start to laugh, the bell rings for lessons, they start to leave. I remember that fifth lesson is P.E and Jackson usually comes out first as he is the sport captain and he has to set up the pitch for Rugby.
I see Jackson doing his stretches and I try to shout to him, but it is quite hard when you have tape stuck on your mouth. He finally sees me and runs over,"What are doing here?" He asks,"your suppose to be on the hockey pitch". He untied the rope and carries me to the sick room(as they usually have a spare wheelchair for emergencies). He lifts me into the wheel chair and pushes me to the hockey pitch.
