Chapter 5

Today I didn't feel like myself even though my back is better, I had no partner for the prom."Don't worry you can go with me," Scarlett says.
"Thanks," I say. I still haven't got a dress yet, the prom is a week away. Scarlett and I need to go dress shopping."Scarlett we need to dress shopping," I say to her.
"Okay,when?" Scarlett says.
"Tomorrow after school," I reply.
The next day we went dress shopping, Scarlett tried on several dresses,My favourite one for Scarlett was pink and had lots of sequins around the hem.It was my turn, I pick two dresses the first one I am not sure about, but the second one, Scarlett screamed (a good scream) "You look so pretty," she says, it was light blue with a blue flower hair tie.
After we bought are dresses, the same three popular girls(that destroyed my wheelchair)came in.
"Weirdos," the main girl took one look at me,"Have you got no to go with?"she asked in a mean way.
"No, we are going together," Scarlett says. I walk out of the shop as I can't be bothered to argue any more, the popular girls were right, we had no one to go with.
"Where did you?" Scarlett asked,puffing and panting.
"Sorry, I didn't feel like staying," I replied, Scarlett gave a thumbs up, she sat down.
" You know you don't need to have a boy to go to the prom, we should be proud to be single," she said, she took my hand and squeezed it. I knew she meant well the the prom was a big thing I didn't want her to mess it up.
The next day was school, I had decided to be ill on the prom so no one would think that I was weird going with my own friend. Jackson went up to "Still figuring out who you are going with?" He asked with a cheeky smile.
"Yep,"I say.
"Are you still going with Freddy?" He joked.
"Nope," I smiled,"who are you going with?"
"Guess who?" He asked. The main popular girl came over.
"Me," she screamed, she mouthed, back of. I thought to myself we can't get what we want all the time.
