The bell rang out loudly everyone was pushing and shoving to get to the next class. As usual our headmaster would stand at the bottom of the stairs saying,"No running," I smirked, slowly walked past the headmaster. He smiled at me "Nice to see you in school".Usually, you have to wait outside the class room until the teacher says you may come in, but in English everyone usually just barged in and sat next to the person they want to be next to.I looked around and sat on empty chair next to the radiator.A familiar face sat down next to me."Sorry, don't I know you from somewhere?" I said.
"Yes, you do I was in your primary school,we use to be best friends,"the boy grins at me.
"Sorry, that I didn't recognise you,"I apologetically said.
"It's fine," he said,"you are....Poppy, am I right?"
"You have a long memory,"I joked,"you are ...."
"I am Jackson," he smiled at me.
"Right class, please be quiet! I am Miss Morgan and I am going to teach you English this term can you please open up your new English books,"
After an hour the lunch bell rang,"You are dismissed,"said the teacher. As I was walking past, everyone was crowded around the notice board. "What's wrong? Why is everyone crowded around the notice board?"I asked. I gave up guessing and decided that it couldn't be that important.
The headmaster gets out his microphone, "As I am sure you are aware the prom is taking place next month, remember we need helpers and you need a partner. Thank you for listening!"After the announcement everyone started talking about the prom, which really annoyed me:
1. I had no one to go with
2. I hate dancing
3. I hate music
Jackson came up to me,"Who are you going with?"
"Um.."I knew I had to say someone,"Freddy.." I pointed to a weird boy over in the corner.
"You are going with him.." Jackson walked of.
"Wait...wait!" I didn't want to hurt his feelings."I'm sorry, I was lying,"
"Why did you lie?" He asked.
"To be cool" I said quietly. He laughed and headed to the canteen.
The hard part was to choose where to sit, if you sat at one table it could ruin your school life. I decided to eat outside on a bench by myself. Two girls came up to me and sat next to me.
"Can we sit down?" They both asked.
"Yes," I mumbled.
"What classes are you in next?"one of girls asked.
"Triple science and History," I said.
"OMG! We are in the same lessons," they both screamed.
"Great!" I said sarcastically. My first day back at school couldn't get any worst!
The two girls followed me round all day! They skipped to their lessons and started laughing when there was no joke. I was glad to walk home by myself, I put my headphones and listen to the music I wanted, music was my life it prevented me when I was stressed or annoyed.
