The Forgetful Padawan

Out Run, Out Last

It was long after dark by the time I found the torgruta girl, after catching Ahsoka up on what was happening she contacted Anakin, " so it looks like we need to blow up this wing of the lab in order to give our Masters a chance to sneak in" she thought to me, I looked at the plans over and over trying to see if there was some way to do it form the outside, luckily I found one. " Ahsoka, you still have some of those pocket grenades correct? I need to use it" she nodded and handed over the weapon, using the force I waited for the monitors to go down before sending it over to the patch of the field where our target was. I wanted for Ashoka to give me the signal on when to ignite it "Now!" she spoke, and the three of us ducked under the roots for protection, just then republic ships flew over. The next thing I know Ahsoka is jumping into the blown lab, I didn't hesitate to follow her. We were attacking droids left and right keeping the focus on us, until shielded droids came from behind " Fall Back" I yelled, struggling to defend the clones " I can't hold them!" Ahsoka yelled over the noise, just then the ceiling caved in in front of us. I covered my eyes from the debris when I heard a familiar voice " Need some help?" I grinned wildly " Master!" I cheered and ran over to him, he did not return my amusement, however, " Didn't I give you specific instructions to not enter the Lab my Padawan?" I gave him a confused look until it dawned on me, our last conversation. I could feel my cheeks turn pink with embarrassment. He however never got the chance to scold me as we quickly made our way to where Anakin was Hopefully rescuing Padme. The three of us ran with our lightsabers ignited green, blue, and purple shined down the illuminated hall. We never made it far because more droids started attacking, "we'll keep the droids occupied, you go get to those bombs" Ahsoka said.

And like clockwork the torgruta girl and I danced with our deadly weapons towards the machinery, blocking blast after blast and cutting the metal into bits. The dynamic I and Ahsoka had was unique, she was very free with her style having a mix of Ataru with the basics, while I was swift and precise to keep the clean movement. We were on the opposite sides of s spectrum but it was perfectly balanced to take down the opponent. As soon as we were cleared we started running to where the others should be, we didn't get very far though because we soon ran into Anakin.

"We got a missing bomb and a trigger-happy mad doctor on the loose." Padme interrupted " I saw Dr. Vindi give a little droid a bomb" " you guys split up. Find that doctor" Skywalker ordered. I decided that since master was already upset that I didn't listen when he said to stay out of the lab that it was best to stick with Ahsoka and the clones. We forged the lab for any sign of the druid but we had no luck until Padme came onto our coms saying she found the last bomb. Now it was a race to get the bomb squad to her in time, I summoned the force to will me to go faster. I reached Padme before any other clone and grabbed the bomb from her racing it back to the others. We deactivated it with seconds to spare. 'Trin, are you alright?' I could hear Obi-wan through the force, ' Yes master I'm perfectly fine. We did it I responded proudly, though I couldn't see him I could feel the pride in his signature 'That we did My padawan, that we did'

Obi-wan and Anakin had just left to take Dr. Vindi to his trial, I was staying with Ahsoka and Padme to clean up the remainders of the lab. Just as we discussed a plan of action a clone came up to us holding an empty bomb. " the droid must still have the virus" I said, Padme nodded " sound the Alarm, shut down the lab. We have to find that droid" after a couple of seconds the whole lab was in locked down, us on the inside and my master on the outside. Not a moment later the whole building shook followed by a flashing light, Virus leak. I didn't know if it was fear or dread but hearing that siren go off triggered something in me, a strong need to survive. I don't remember feeling anything like that in the temple, and certainly not before.

We sped down the tunnels, Ahsoka and I along with droids trying to reach the safe room, it was far away and the virus was gaining. Just as we approached the doors started to close, there was barely enough room to squeeze through. Without thinking Ahsoka and I used the forces to hold the doors open long enough to get everyone in, except ourselves. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough time for the both of us to get through. " Ahsoka go, I'll find Padme and seal another room off" she looked at me in disbelief but I didn't give her a chance to argue, I pushed the padawan to the door and took off running to find Padme before the virus got to me. 'I just hope I'm strong enough to fight it' I thought to myself as I sped off towards another safe room.

(Obi-wan's POV)

After the ground shaking and loading Dr. Vindi onto the cruiser Anakin finally made contact with Ahsoka, meanwhile, I tried to get to Ametrine. " Ahsoka what's going on down there?" " The virus was let loose by the droid, but we sealed off the lab and are in a safe room," she answered through his com. " Ahsoka is Ametrine with you?" I asked hoping the answer was yes " no she- she went to go look for Padme" I instantly felt the panic of Ametrine outside of the safe room. This was exactly why I never wanted her anywhere near the lab. Anakin got in contact with Padme only to learn they were also in a safe room. That just left Ametrine the only one unaccounted for. I started trying to contact her through the coms again only to get no response. I suppose Anakin could sense my worry because he placed his hand on my shoulder. " Don't worry Master, Ametrine is a strong girl. If anyone can outrun this virus it's her" he said, though it didn't sound like he believed it. 'Let's hope she is'
