It was a beautiful night in Calatonia. The streets were hustling and bustling with various animals scurrying along. Where could they be heading, you may be asking? Why, these animals are heading to the most dazzling theater in town where the play "Epiphany" was showing. Inside the theater are perhaps hundreds of animals eagerly filling the empty seats. One by one, the audience began to grow for the exciting and glamorous theatrics that were about to occur. Tonight's show was going to be a spectacular one.
Eventually, the seats were all filled and the lights began to dim. Voices are kept hushed as the opening act of the play begins. The actors and crew backstage hurry to get into positions and play their parts. The stage manager makes sure everything is in the proper place as the music begins and the curtains unfold, revealing a beautiful enchanted wood. A female black sheep walks up the mountain while a pack of dogs scurry onto the stage below. The sheep, all the while, is singing with a most enchanting voice.
Once there was way to get back homeward
Once there was a way to get back home.
Sleep pretty darling, do not cry. And I will sing a lullaby...
The audience was mesmerized by everything the play was offering. The actors, the vocals, the setting, the music, everything. It was a magical moment, but no one was more mesmerized than a young koala.
"This was it. The moment it all began. The moment an ordinary little guy fell in love with theater. Everything about it: the lights, the way the scenery moved, even the smell."
The little and adorable koala, who was in one of the upper decks of the audience, was trying to get a better view of the show. His father took notice of this and lifted his son up. The look in the boy's eyes were filled with admiration, eyes widening, completely enthralled.
"He was only six years old, but his plans to become the first koala bear in space were suddenly... toast."
Years later, that little koala grew up to be the owner of the theater that he loved so much. On the day of the opening ceremony, the koala is wearing a snazzy blue suit alongside an elderly iguana with a glass eye, a tall sheep, and of course, his father. The koala was holding a pair of golden scissors, ready to cut the red ribbon in front of the theater.
"Some folks may have said he grew up to be the greatest showman the city has ever seen. Some called him a visionary. A maverick. Sure some folks said he was as crazy as he was stubborn, but I say wonder and magic don't come easy, pal."
We now cut to the present day in a blue office littered with several posters depicting past shows, achievements, and highlights. The koala is sitting at his desk and turns his office chair to, seemingly, no one.
"And oh, there would never be any doubt. The name Buster Moon would go down in entertainment history. And I should know because I am Buster-"
The koala's dialogue is suddenly interrupted by a loud knock on a nearby door.
"MOON!"
The sudden intrusion snapped the koala, now known as Buster Moon, out of his trance.
"Open this door!"
An elderly iguana, the same one from the opening ceremony, then walks in.
"Good morning, Mr. Moon." she greets.
"Miss Crawly. What, uh,... what's going on?" Buster asks, looking past the iguana now known as Miss Crawly.
"You got a lot of animals waiting to see you, Mr. Moon."
"I do?"
Buster then peers through the blinds to see the situation for himself.
"Holy moly, I really do." Buster whispers to himself.
