Today is the first day of Foundation Week so everyone is busy running around for last-minute preparation. Architecture Department will have an exhibit of exceptional works of architecture students from different year levels. It's always like this every year actually and for five years now my work and Rin's work is always on display.

Every department has its theme and tricks. According to Rhianne, Fine Arts Department will be having an exhibit too and at the same time they are offering live art commission, meaning they will paint or draw on the spot whether it is a portrait or anything. Customers will have the privilege to choose a student with whom they want to do the painting. Rhianne is definitely the most wanted since she's the most award-winning student in the field of arts here at Q University, she's Gold Medalist in national and international competitions. For several times her name was posted on the bulletin board for like a month.

I'm proud of my introverted friend.

Besides that, there will be a sports tournament, department vs. department. If I remember correctly it will be basketball, volleyball, 100-meter sprint, soccer, and chess. Honestly, not many students would like to join in these tournaments because it's tiring and they think it's for high school only.

I have a different reason though.

Foundation Week is always before our major submission in finals for the first semester. This year is more stressful since we will have our Capstone Defense a week after Foundation Week. What makes it worst is that I have to participate in volleyball and chess tournament. It's not mandatory, but no one wanted to join, so I just volunteered for our section---at least one participant in one section is good enough. Rin, on the other hand, is part of the basketball team which is not surprising since he's so great at it.

Speaking of Rin, he's right beside me focusing on his laptop, I'm guessing it's his thesis.

"Thesis?" I asked.

"Yeah, just editing it a little bit."

I scoot closer to see his laptop.

Excellent work as always.

"So it means you're done then. How's editing so far?"

"Going smoothly, I think I can finish this today." He closed his laptop before facing me. "But for now, I'll give my time to you."

"Even your lines are smooth, huh."

He grinned. "Well, I just felt like you want my attention, so."

I scoffed. "I was just curious and besides you said that you don't mind me bothering you, in fact, you like it. So, we can say that I'm just giving back the favor."

"That's right, absolutely. So how's your thesis paper so far? I never saw you do your thesis here, not even once."

"My thesis paper is done but still I need to review and check every part of it to make sure I didn't miss anything vital. Also, I'm not comfortable doing it here because many would ask me to show them my work. I don't like it when they compare their work to mine then they will be discouraged, as much as possible I'd like to avoid that. Besides, I can focus a lot more at home than here."

"No one's asking me about my work though," Rin said.

I chuckled. "It's because they are shy and you were aloof so, of course, they will hesitate."

"Well, you got that right." Rin adjusted his chair and sitting position so he can give me his full attention. "Does it happened before? I mean the comparing and such?"

I took a deep breath and nodded. "It does back in high school. It was pretty..."

"Bad, I'm guessing. If you don't mind sharing, I'm all ears."
