Jake Jacobs
Jake whispered a curse in his head. He pushed the closet door and heard Elisse whispered his name. He didn't even get to answer what she asked him because he doesn't even know what to tell her. He wanted to see her again. The reason why looks forward getting in that last train is merely all because of her.
How can he not?
He clenched his fists and remembered her eyes. She looked terrified. Those beautiful eyes looked so scared and he fucking hated that. No, he didn't even see this coming. No, he never saw himself got the guts to talk to her in the very first place. He is not supposed to get into her peaceful world only to ruin it.
He cannot believe she brought her into this shit. He is supposed to only watch her from a distance. This is why he refused to talk to her for months even though he is dying to.
This is only their first day.
On this very first day that he involved himself to her, this is what happened. He shouldn't have become greedy. He should have stayed back and make himself contented of watching her from afar and continue to admire her from behinds.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it." He whispered and brushed his hair in frustration.
He heard the door banged again and he finally walked to open it. There he saw the huge figure of his friend, Raymond.
"Hyung." He called, curtly nodding towards the closet, letting him know that Elisse was in there. Raymond frowned and pulled him away from it.
"What the fuck are you doing, Jake?" He whispered, making sure that he won't be heard. "Is that her? The woman in the subway?"
Jake nodded and blinked his eyes several times. "I-I was just walking her home."
"You know you have a lot of eyes watching you especially because of your upcoming fight." Raymond said again and closed the door that room. "Brock and his men are looking for you. You are supposed to be in that party tonight. I cannot believe you ditched Venus just like that. You know she is crazy over you."
"Hyung." Jake called and pulled him farther away from the closet. "If I went with her tonight, they'll expect me to give up my fight in exchange of that same money I can win from it. Or maybe more that. But I won't."
"Jake, listen-"
"No, I am not going to fight and win for her. I am fighting for my mom, no one else." Jake interrupted. "I am not a dog who needs a pat whenever I won a fight. She doesn't own me."
Raymond sighed and touched his forehead. "Alright, I get you. For now, we need to leave this place. They might-"
Raymond is interrupted when the door suddenly swung open, both of them snap their heads to look at Brock who is smoking his cigarette when he came in.
"There you are." He said and tilted his head with that cigarette stick between his lips. "I've been looking for you everywhere." He said with that cunning smile.
"What do you want?" Jake asked, rolling his eyes. "You guys know I can finish you all in this room."
Brock giggled and puts his hands in his pockets. "As much as I want to destroy that pretty face of yours, you know we can't hurt you, my boy. Venus will be furious is she saw a single scratch on you. How about-" Brock paused and looks up, pretending to think. "-your pal, Vincent?"
One of the men showed the screen of his phone and there lies the image of Vincent in that chicken restaurant owned by his great friends Gino and August. He is unaware of the people watching him while he was on his way to deliver some orders for today.
