As gently as possible, I knock on the door to my father's office.

"Yes?"

"Hey, daddy!" I chirp before lazing across his office chair.

His bushy black eyebrow raises in question, his head cocked at a downward angle so he can look at me over his spectacles.

"You know that chair is usually reserved for clients," he rumbles in his deep voice.

I fake a laugh while shaking my head at his sarcasm. "Don't be rude, I came to help."

"Help with what?"

"The case, obviously." I roll my eyes, very professionally. "I did some research on Mr. Killian's alibi, and it doesn't add up. Listen to this-" I start explaining the new factor to the case we've been working on all week.

I can't lie and say I don't feel some arrogance when I watch pride light up my dad's eyes.

"That's great, Sky," he says. The grin on his face makes my recent reliance on coffee worth it. Well, almost.

"Thanks, daddy."

"You know what? You've been doing great lately, why don't you take the rest of the day off? It will give you plenty of time to consider the firm's job offer."

I shoot up from the chair, way more energetic now. "Really?!" I don't wait for him to change his mind, I'm out the door with a quick "You're the best!"

When I arrive at my girlfriends house, I find myself still alone. Disappointed, I lay myself across the couch and reach for the phone on the side table. I dial Ross' number, hoping that I'm correct in betting that he's the only one not doing anything.

"Yello," he answers. Thank god I didn't have to listen to his answering machine message, it gives me a migraine.

"What're you doing?" I ask without giving my name.

"Oh, hey Sky. I'm organizing my fossil collection, wanna help?"

"Uh, I was actually wondering if you wanted to come to your sisters place and watch the National Geographic on tonight," I make up. I did not have that in mind when I called, but no way in hell was I arranging rocks.

"The one on Jellyfish?" He gets excited.

"Yeah, you comin'?"

When Ross gets to the apartment, he immediately grabs us both sodas, lifts my head and makes his lap my new pillow while turning on the TV.

"Where's Mon?" He asks once he realizes no one's home.

"I was hoping you knew, I haven't seen her in a while." Although it's only been since yesterday morning at the coffee house since I've seen her, it feels like forever. Especially with such a fresh relationship, it's only two weeks old. I fear something has happened with her since she's been distant the past few days. Maybe I'm looking too much into it, or maybe she's already tired of me.

"Hey, you and Rach had your date and we haven't had a chance to talk about it," I point out to change the subject.

"Oh, yeah! It was unbelievable. I can't believe it's been three days, I can't stop thinking about it."

"Aw... so did you do it?" I wiggle my eyebrows suggestively.

He rolls his head to the side dramatically. "Yes, yes, we did the it."
