Chapter 27:New Hope in the Darkness

* Angelina's pov. *

Misery, grief, and hoplessness engulfed me, leaving me in the dark,alone. "Is anyone there,"I shouted, but in vane. "My voice,"I thought. "I-I can't speak."

Then, I saw Hinata and she was smiling at me.

"Wait,"I begged. "Don't leave me!"

But Hinata just vanished into the darkness. I felt so hopeless, lonely and desperate to leave the darkness.

Suddenly, warm light blanketed over me as I slowly fluttered my eyes open. Everything around me was blinding and lush. I was mesmerized by the light. It was almost as bright and heavenly as heaven.

"What happened to me....,"I said in a daze. Then, I noticed two men standing in front of me inspecting me like a guinea pig, and yes, I know what a guinea pig is, though it did take me quite a while to figure it out.

" Who is she,"the man grunted.

"Beats me," another man replied. "Another human?"

"No, she doesn't have the aura of a human...not an angel or demon either....interesting."

"Then is she-,"the man wondered.

"No, she couldn't be-,"the man growled.

" Sorry to interrupt, but do you know where I am,"I asked as politely as I could. Jeez! They couldn't just ignored me like I was invisible!

"Ah, sorry miss. I didn't know you were.... awake,"the guy apologized. "The name's Sean and that is Tobi over there.And you are?"

" Angelina, sir."

"Tsk,"Tobi snared. "You're not supposed to tell every girl you meet your name!"

"What,"Sean whined. "She's not a devil though."

I blinked. "Tobi? Could he be that Tobi,"I thought. I looked up at the sky, hoping Hinata would somehow hear my prayer. Suddenly, I noticed the difference in the land. Although I was on sitting on land, without a doubt, I noticed that I was on a floating island. Hundreds, no, thousands of islands floated up in the sky. It was like a while new world. I was speachless.

"Yeah, I know. Cool, eh,"Sean asked. It was as if he could read my mind.

"Y-yeah,"I answered. "Wait....you're Tobi, right? "

Tobi rolled his eyes. "Yeah, so what?"

"Umm, Hinata mentioned you so-,"I mumbled silently. I didn't even know if he was the Tobi and if he even knew Hinata, but I took my chances.

"Hinata?" Tobi narrowed his eyes. "Hinata? You know her?"

I nodded. "Y-yeah."

"Really,"Sean perked up. "The last time I saw her was ages ago! Haha!"

"There's no time for jokes, Sean,"Tobi rasped. "And, girl, I am the Tobi you're looking for. So? What business do you have with me?"

"I don't -,"I began to explain.

"Awww, only Tobi gets attention,"Sean whined.

"Oh, that's not it,"I replied nervously.

"Haha, it's okay,"Sean laughed. "I was just joking!"

"Go on,"Tobi growled.

"I-" My eyes widened. From the edge of the island, I saw the titan from the portal. It was severely injured, but it was still fueled with anger. I froze.

"I-I-It's not possible!" Tears began to flow down my cheeks. The trees howled as if to respond to my fear and the wind rustled the leafs as the sky turned grey.

"Stop it, "Tobi rasped.

"W-what,"I shivered in the cold.

"Stop crying! Were you born yesterday? The nature is responding to your emotions,"Tobi chided. "This is elementary stuff!"

"Chill, dude! She's probably a colonial,"Sean said.

"Colonial? What's that,"I thought to myself.

"RUN!"Tobi snared. "We'll handle the titan. Now run as fast as you can!"

Again! I was the weak, hopeless one again! I shook my head. "I want to help. I have to!"

"RUN!"

I shook my head again. I wasn't going to be the helpless one, no not again. Not ever!

"Argh, stubborn girl,"Tobi rasped. "Do what you want. Just don't get in my way. Got it?"

I nodded. "Thank you!"

Soon, the titan was just a couple of meters away from us. It shook the ground with its iron feet. It's eyes glowed silver as it mumbled a few words that I couldn't make out.

No wasting any time, Tobi and Sean summoned their swords and prepared for battle. Me? I didn't sit back of course. I summoned my crimson wings and spared into the sky. Immediately, I tried something I've never done before. I tried to blast the titan with pure energy from my magic reservoir.

"You can do it,"I muttered to myself. "Just a bit more....Now!"

I let go of my pure energy, allowing to it blast through the sky with speed never seen before. Before I could see what has happened, I blanked out and fell......
