Chapter 23: A Visit from the Past

Konichiwa mina! Guess what? It's time for yet another update! Yay! :) I am a newbie here and I am a huge fan of manga and anime! I hope you enjoyed my story so far! > ~

All my characters in this novel are original, however, if you find a similar character... rest assure, they're different and are made up from my own imagination! ;)

* Angelina's perspective *

  Frightened and astonished, I slowly turned around to see who was lurking in the shadows. As I squinted ever so slightly,  I caught a glimpse of the figure. Although the voice was familiar, I was too surprised for my brain to process the voice.

" C-c-chiyo?  I-is that you,"I stuttered with astonishment after a couple seconds of thinking. 

" Took you long enough! To think you'd forget about me, your best friend,"snickered the figure sarcastically.

" N-no! You were never my friend! You betrayed me,"I blurted as Chiyo stepped closer to me.

Thump, thump, thump. Chiyo's footsteps resonated in my ears as I held my breath and close my eyes.

" What do you want from me,"I demanded with the last bit of confidence I could muster.

"How rude of you Angelina! I just came to visit my friend. No more no less,"pouted Chiyo as she touched my face. " Oh, I see. You don't want to talk to me, huh? Well, what if I did something to that pretty boy of yours?"

"N-no...Wait...How do you know him,"I grunted with disbelief.

Chiyo smiled with glinting eyes and stepped closer. "Haha! You just told me!"

I clenched my jaws. How much longer was she going to stay here? "Why did you come here, Chiyo? "

  Chiyo stared at me, dumbfounded. "Didn't I say why earlier? Or are you deaf........Hmmmmmm....It seems like you won't believe me! Fine! And I was having so much fun! Ugh!"

" Just tell me why you're here!"

" Okay, okay! The counsel needs you to go back to heaven cause of all the commotion up there, but of course, I was like, we could handle the titans without a fallen angel! But nooo!"

" I thought so." I remembered how Chiyo liked to do everything her way. "Then why are you here instead of a counsel member?"

"Obviously because I was sent on a mission to find some human relic, so, for convenience, they decided ask me to pay you a visit," said Chiyo as if it were obvious.

I frowned. "How can that be possible? "

"Of course it's possible! Why? You think that only your family can be favored by God?" Chiyo glared at me. Her eyes shot through me like a bullet.

" No!"

"Oh really? Well....now that I'm here, what should I do to you? "

Suddenly, someone knocked the door of the cabin. "Open up!"

"That must be Oliva, "I though as I turned around. Thank god for saving me from all that nonsense! As I turned back to look at Chiyo, she had already began to fade into thin air.

"Saved by a human, eh? You were never a true angel,"Chiyo taunted as she  vanished.

" What do you-,"I began to say, but Chiyo had already disappeared. Then, suddenly, Oliva busted into the room and scolded,"Girl! Don't ever lock the door on me again! I had to look everywhere to find a decent bobby-pin to pick the lock!"

I relaxed a little and laughed. " Sorry, Oliva. I was just-"

" No time for chit-chat,  let's get our stuff and get ready for archery!"

  Oliva was jumping up and down from the excitement. Knowing that she was good at sports and such, it was expected for her to be excited.

" Archery....I've never done archery before. What is it like," I asked.

" Oh my gosh! You've never done archery before? It's like the coolest sport every,"Oliva explained with excitement. Soon enough, Oliva began to use various hand gestures and sound effects. It was bizzard, but amusing.

After a couple minutes of explanation and gestures, I laughed and rose to my feet. "Got it! Now let's go!"

Not long after, we walked to the site where the archery was. As Oliva and I walked down the narrow trail, I looked around in awe. For the first time, I felt like I could actually admire what the humans call 'mother nature', has given us. Earth had plants and creatures that inhabited in the woods which painted a vivid scene in the land. Various trees, birds, and creatures that roam the Earth, unlike heaven. Oh, heaven.

I really couldn't help but feel useless. Even Chiyo was helping heaven fight off the titans, while I do archery. Of course I had nothing against archery and sports, but I  felt dull.

"Come on Angelina! Walk faster, "Oliva urged as she pulled my hand and sprinted at full speed towards the site, leaving nothing but bits of dust behind us.

"Dont ever do that again! You run really fast,"I said as I panted for air. There was no doubt that Oliva was a true athlete. She could race a leopard and still be in good shape!

"Haha! That wasn't super fast, but thanks!" Oliva grinned before dashing towards the stand of bows.

As Oliva gazed at the bows in awe, she exclaimed," Oh my goodness! Is that the newest bow, Maximus-2145?"

" Yes it is,"the instructor said. "In fact, it was just delivered to us yesterday! You guys are lucky to have it now."

Oliva nodded with agreement. " I heard they were exclusive and were in stock. How did you get your hands on it?"

"Well, we ordered it-,"the instructor began to say. " Oh, look at the time! We need to start the lesson!"
 
Oliva frowned and walked towards me. "Awww! And he was just going to tell me how to get that bow!"

" At least you might get to use that bow."I shrugged.

" Shush! Quiet down everyone,"chided Mr. Athleticism as he blew his whistle.

" Ugh! Party pooper! " Oliva sounded annoyed, but nevertheless, the lesson began and everyone quieted down trying to hold their excitement.
