Beam POV
"Excuse me, I got here first." I said as I turned to look at the person who was haggling with me on the taxi cab door.
Then, I saw him... WHAT THE FUCK?!
"Mallow?" He said. It was my pet name by a certain person.
I frowned at him, "Forth?"
The driver got impatient and growled, "Are you guys going to ride or not?"
Forth suddenly grabbed me and pulled me away. "Sorry khun, we won't ride the cab. I really apologize."
The cab drove away as we stood at the pavement.
"What did you just do? I really needed to go home!" I boomed.
"Haha! You're still the bubbly Mallow I knew. I missed that. Let's go so we can catch up. I know a good place to drink near here."
"No!"
"Please," he pleaded.
I gave him a sullen glance but it did not have any effect. Piff! So I just gave up especially when he did his puppy-pout thing. It had this bonus effect to make me extra nice to him.
My heart suddenly raced. Ugh! Why did I even see this jerk again? Shit! How I miss those lips! Those eyes! Those arms! His hugs! His big co--
"Let's go!" He exclaimed.
I didn't say anything but followed him to the place. We just walked from our initial spot. He had so many questions but I only answered in a monotone of yes and no or I would nod or shake my head. When we reached the place, he ordered a bucket of beer but I preferred cocktails that night. We chose a spot in the al fresco section where Forth can smoke and where we can feel the outside ambience. It was a little nook at one corner.
"So Mallow, how are you? Any news to share?"
"I'm good, I'm pursuing my MBA actually. After graduation, I focused on our family company. I travelled for some time but nothing out of the ordinary. How bout you? Did you finish your studies?"
He shook his head and forced a smile. "How long has it been? Six? Eight months?"
"What are you talking about Forth?"
"The last time we saw each other. The time we parted ways."
Ouch! Why the hell did he asked that question. The past is the past already. Ugh! I cleared my throat and answered, "Ehem, actually it's been 2 years Forth. It's been 2 years and 4 months to be exact since the day you left me; since the day you broke up with me and replaced me with another." Yes, there is bitterness.
