From Afar from Love - IV

Beam POV

My eyes almost bulged out of their sockets. What did he just say? Shit, he said? Damn it!

"So this is the end? You just had sex me tonight to say goodbye? Wow! Confetti for you! Goodbye sex! So that's all? You really wanna end this SHIT? This is only SHIT for you?"

"I just don't feel the same way now. I already love some one else Baramee. I don't want to lie to you anymore."

"But you just did. Who is it?"

"His name Maze. I met him at the cafe outside the school. I bumped into him, and then I felt the spark again that I don't feel with you anymore."

Wow. They just bumped into each other and there was spark. What the fucking rom-com movie is this? Ugh! Should I have myself get run over by a car so I can have my own rom-com scene? Shit! Who's he treating as a fool?

"Goodbye Baramee..."

I did not respond verbally. I just punched him in the face until his nose bled.  He left and never showed himself again.

First boyfriend, first heartbreak. He really left me broken when he said he lost the spark in loving me. He should've told me in the get go so I could've electrocuted him. He left me for another GUY. I would've accepted it better if it was a girl but fine. I just moved on even though it's hard. I mean, when you're already used to something, it's hard to move on in an instant.

 But have I moved on really? I don't know but my heart pounded when I saw him again. I guess, deep in my heart presumed that we'll be together again.

"Mallow, I'll bring you home."

"No need Forth, I can take care of myself."

"I miss you Mallow so much. I regret that I ever left you. Can we be together again?"

I was already tipsy at that time but I can still think clearly. "Stop it Forth. I'm good now. Don't disturb my life anymore. And stop calling me Mallow, call me Baramee like you did when we last saw each other."

"Mallow, I'm sorry. I'm really really sorry."

"Forth, hold this for me." I handed him a glass. "Can you let go of it."

He did and it fell before breaking down to pieces.

"Now Forth, say sorry to it."

"I'm sorry."

"Do you get it? Did anything change? Nothing. If you let go of something that fragile and you leave it to shatter into a million pieces, no matter how much you apologize, you won't be able to change it back as it were. You were the one that got away for me. I tried saving our relation. Truly, Forth I tried my hardest because I was deeply in love with you. I accept every flaws you had but you let go of me yourself."

He didn't say anything.

"Do me a favor Forth, be a man, be a good father to your son. Well, I need to go." I left him on the spot. I knew my decision was right not to let Forth back into my life.

My life continued as usual. I focused on my studies, on our company, travel, and other things. One Saturday, it was a day off but a client set a meeting in a trending cafe. I went there early but unfortunately he wasn't able to inform me that he won't be able to come because he got stuck in traffic and needed to catch up to his flight.

I thought about walking around until I loitered around some artsy corridor filled with creative studios. I looked around and was not paying attention to my surrounding when suddenly someone bumped into me.

"Oww, sorry Sir." The guy who collided with me said. 

Woah! Lean fit, cute eyes, kissable lips, good set of teeth. Best word to describe him is OPPA. I just hope he's not some macho dancer or man-whore or else it's a waste.

"Ah, no it's okay." I replied. But shit, he's one attractive guy.

"I'm Ming by the way." He offered his hand. I shook his hand immediately.

"Beam." I replied.

Gosh! I can't believe that I really had a rom-com bumping scene! So this is what Forth meant by spark.

"Where are you going now?" He asked.

"I'm going home, I guess."

"Ow, okay."

"Random question, what is your job?"

"I'm a marketing associate." It's good that he's not a macho dancer or a sex worker. Haha!

Ming also took my number and added/followed me on my socials. Then, I learned that he was a bisexual too. Makes sense. He courted me and it felt really good. The kind of bliss that I never felt for a long time.

I fell for him and I said yes when he asked me to be his boyfriend. He calls me My Angel because he said he was mesmerized when he first saw me.

One day, he invited me to their place because it's his nephew's birthday. He will also introduce me to his siblings and cousins. He fetched that day and we bought a cake and some gifts before went to their house. The baby celebrating his birthday turned 2 years old, his name is Wayo.

When we reached the venue, the second party just started with the younger guests slowly going home with their parents. Ming put down our gifts before he looked for the birthday boy. 

"Phi! We're here! Where are you? Come quick, I will introduce someone special." He shouted.

Two woman came out from the other room. They were also accompanied by a guy who was holding a child who looked somewhat like me. I was shocked because...

...it was Forth. He's Ming's older cousin.

"Hey, Meen, Maw, P'Forth, I am happy to introduce my Angel to you, my boyfriend, P'Beam."

"Hi phi!" I was greeted by Ming's younger sisters, 16 and 12 years old respectively. I gave them a sweet smile.

I stared straight at Forth and I saw the regret in his face. If I were to guess, his brain was probably saying something like: "Why? Why does it have to be him? Why do you have to be in a relationship with my cousin?"

"Ah Ming, I know Beam. He's my schoolmate. I sometimes see him around the campus." Forth said.

"Wow really? What a small world! That's good. Anyway, let's go the dining room? I think my Angel is hungry. hehe!" Ming invited us before rounding an arm around my nape in front of Forth. I wonder what would happen if he learned that Forth was really my ex-boyfriend. 

I love Ming and I hope his love for me will never be the same as Forth's. I found a new spark with him. I hope he will never be the one that got away again. We can't undo what happened in the past and you can't easily ease the pain. 

But as for Forth...

Is this really the end of us or do we have something more after this?
