Tricked Again

The sky was swarming with flying carriages. Agatha looked up and saw blurs of gold, red, black, green, and every other color imaginable. They started lowering to the ground, the flying horses neighing as their hooves touched grass.

One carriage landed before the others. It was pink with gold finishes that read 'Jaunt Jolie'.

Queen Jacinda opened the gold door of her carriage. She stepped out in an elegant lavender dress, with an astounded look on her face. The queen took in Agatha and Tedros standing in front of the Snake- who everyone still thought was Rhian. He was being held hostage by the three witches, their finger glows to his neck.

"Rhian?" the Queen of Jaunt Jolie said quietly, but loud enough for him to hear. More carriages were landing now, with their leaders stepping onto the grass next to Queen Jacinda. The wolf-king of Bloodbrook, the fairy queen of Gillikin, the Ice Giant of the Frostplains, and King Dutra of Foxwood were among them, as well as more than 90 other carriages.

Agatha realized that the entirety of the Kingdom Council was here. She took in the faces of the Kings and Queens who had betrayed them for 'Rhian', not realizing he was the Snake. None of them wore the Storian's rings, for they had been burned. Only the ring of Camelot, the ring on Tedros's finger, remained.

The leaders were now looking at Japeth with horror, but Agatha couldn't tell if it was because they were scared of the Snake, or they thought it was Rhian, their beloved king, captured by evil witches. She prayed for the first, but deep down in her soul, she knew the Kingdom Council had been tricked by the Snake again.

Murmurs started through the crowd of Kings and Queens. "Is that Rhian?... The heir of Camelot... Rhian of Foxwood... One true king..."

Agatha could only catch snippets of conversation, until one King was brave enough to speak the words all of them were thinking.

"King Rhian, is that you?" the Wolf-King of Bloodbrook's voice thundered, eyeing Japeth.

Before Tedros could answer him however, Japeth yelled out-

"It's me! Rhian of Foxwood! These rebels have taken me hostage!" he screamed towards the leaders as if they were his last means of survival.

Slowly the scornful looks towards Japeth changed to scornful looks towards Tedros and Agatha.

"Let him go!" the King of Foxwood demanded, with a threatening look towards the coven.

None of the witches moved. Quickly, two Foxwood guards started towards them, trying to pry them away from the Snake. The second guard reached for Anadil, but she punched him in the nose, and he fell to the floor. That didn't help their reputation with the Kings and Queens who were watching.

"GET THEM!" King Dutra screamed. Instantly, 20 guards leapt forward, pulling the witches off of Japeth. Finnley scrambled through the crowd of people to help Dot, not caring if he got dirty looks from her friends. They fought as much as they could, sending 10 of the 20 to the ground, crying like babies. But one guard had a finger glow. He pointed it at the witches, and the three of them immediately froze to ice statues. Finnley ran to them, now popsicles, then glared at Japeth. He was twitching with anger so hard, Agatha thought he might explode.

She heard Dot's yelp of fear, and Hester furiously cursing at the guard as they were encased in ice. The new queen stared at their horrified faces. They had seen something Agatha hadn't. Fear was rising inside of her as their best fighters had just been frozen solid.

She turned back to the King of Foxwood, who was now hugging Japeth, not realizing he was their worst enemy.

"King Rhian, you're back? You were dead... but Sir Japeth killed you! What-How-" King Dutra started before the Snake cut him off by whispering in his ear. The King's face changed from surprise to fury. He looked towards Tedros.
