this is a stranger things x harry potter au (alternate universe) because it seemed cool and yeah
it's third person point of view but centers around max mayfield (if you couldn't tell by the cover and synopsis???)
speaking of synopsis, here it is:

Her first impression of Hawkins? Its's boring, lame, and totally what she expected, maybe even less. That is until she meets a party of stalkers and nerds, and is gifted a mysterious letter.
Now things start to get interesting. Utterly confusing and seemingly impossible, but interesting. 𝑀𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑙 even.
She's not so sure how she'll even begin to navigate this new world. But one thing's for certain: 𝐼𝑡'𝑠 𝑏𝑟𝑢𝑡𝑎𝑙 𝑜𝑢𝑡 ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒.

so yeah n e way, the stranger things characters are american but hogwarts is still in europe because yeah (i'm super detailed, aren't i) — but it'll all be explained in the story
and the characters are sorted into different houses (will be explained later) except they still hang out together and there aren't really any super strong house rivalries because we like friendship in this part of town
if you're reading thing, which you definitely are because why else would you be here, you probably have already read/seen harry potter and all current seasons of stranger things. if not, then here's a spoiler warning for ya
additionally, the beginning of the story takes place during the time of the second season of stranger things (1984 — making the kids about 13 years old — because prisoner of azkaban is the best book/movie in the HP series) but changes dates/years along the way. also each season + each harry potter book plot are all meshed into one big thing. for example, even though starcourt mall wasn't until season 3, it may still appear here in 1984.
fair warning, this book is rated mature for violence, gore, foul language, and touches on other heavy topics like death and @buse so viewer discretion advised
