- Chapter two: Scanning for Subs -

"Chrissy, do you copy? Over..." I ask as I start getting ready for school

"Yes, I copy, over." I hear Chrissy say over the cb radio

"Are we hanging out after school today?"

"I have to cheer at the championship game remember?"

"Oh right, totally forgot about that"

"Are you coming tonight?"

"I might have a lot of homework because I've got bio today"

"Right that class sucks"

"Well, I guess I'll see you in the halls"

"See you then"

I look around for my friends during lunch and I don't see anybody till Heather pops into view.

"Hey Heather, are you going to the game tonight?"

"Totally, Jack got us tickets. Are you going?"

"Nope, I have bio class next and that will probably take up the rest of my night"

"That sucks, you have fun with that"

"Sure will. Have fun at the game"

"See ya."

I start walking across the building to bio class to find out what we were going to doing, when I am approached by this small curly haired boy {Probably a freshman}

"Hi there" he says

"Uh hello"

"Are you free tonight?"

"What?"

"Me and my club are hosting a game and we need a sub because our friend is going to the game tonight, and it's hard to find people that aren't going to the game, and people who even know about d and d. But if you are not free that's fine then." He says starting to slowly walk off

"Did you say d and d? As in dungeons and dragons?"

"Yes, that is what I meant. You know about it?"

"Yes, I do, I'm already in a party though."

"You play?"

"Yeah, I do, just hosted a game last night."

"Holy shit! Well can you join us tonight?"

"I'm not sure. My party members don't really like party hopping, but they may make an exception. One second..."

I pull out my cb radio and turn to channel 2,

"Seeker's you there?"

I wait a second for an answer then I hear static

"Yep, loud and clear, what do you want?"

"You guys' mind if a join another party just for tonight?"

"You know that's breaking code 38, right?"

"Yes, I do, but I've got another party member from a different club that is in desperate need of a sub, and it would only be for tonight."

There is a silence for a moment,

"One night."

"Thank you! Black leader signing off"

"That was so cool! You also have a club, codes, nicknames, and a cb radio!"

"Yes, I do. Do you find it weird because i'm a girl? 

"No no, I find it totally badass"

"Why thank you, now where is this being held?"

"Hellfire club room, if you need help finding it, just meet me by the gym doors after school then we can walk together"

"I've heard of that club before, aren't you guys that rowdy table with the guy who always freaks people out? What's his name again?"

"Eddie, and he doesn't freak people out"

"No no, I didn't mean that in a bad way. He seems like a nice person, I used to go to middle school with him. But anyway, I will see you then - and what's your name?"

"Dustin, and you are?"

"Y/n, see you there Dustin"

"See you there Y/n"

 - Dustin pov - 

"Mike do you copy"

"Yeah what is it?"

"Meet me at the club room for a few minutes"

"Fine see you in a second"

{I'm so happy we found a person to sub that isn't a weirdo, plays d and d, and is actually cool. She seemed older though, and I have no idea how Eddie will react to having a girl in our party for tonight, but I hope it goes well}

Just as I finish my train of thought I arrive at the club room and see Mike waiting for me.

"What did you want that you couldn't say over the radio?"

"I found us a sub!"

"Wait really?"

"Yeah, she's so cool-"

"Wait she? The subs a girl?"

"Yes what about it?"

"How do you think Eddie will feel about that?"

"I don't think he will care when he finds out how cool she is!"

"Why do you keep saying she's so cool?"

"She plays d and d for one, has a cb radio, and her own club! Isn't that so cool?"

"Sure, now I have to go, see you after school and don't be late this time ok?"

"Yep see you then!"

{This is going to be one hell of a campaign}
