Lori was a child worked on at the lab. She had extraordinary powers that required an extreme amount of strength, and while only being a young child, she lacked that strength. Only being able to master telepathy and illusion manipulation at her time in the lab, she understood her full capabilities and the required training for them. When she escaped in 1979, during a homicidal attack, she was only 11 years old. Scared and confused, she retreated to a nearby church for help, where she met a young couple Ralph and Loraine Williams. This couple, while hiding it from 007, were actually scientists at the lab and, while knowing who 007 was, kept her secret and loved her as parents. 007 took her mothers name, going by Lori instead. They treated her like a regular child, getting her involved in things like Star Wars, LOTR, the Hobbit, reading, music, dance, and games. However, once Lori figured out who they were at the age of 13, they began training her. Also knowing her full capabilities, they helped her become stronger, mastering most of her powers and getting her comfortable with using all of her gifts. For the three years they spent training her, they also got her involved in classes to gain her general knowledge, like at home schooling, but also self-defense classes, karate classes, and gymnastics classes for her protection. While Lori was out exploring one day, she stumbled upon El in the woods, helping her and becoming friends with her. They grew very close and shared trauma together as they were both children at the lab. This is when Lori was exposed to the rest of the group, quickly becoming friends with Nancy, Steve, Jonathan, and the rest of the kids. While accompanying the Byer's on a trip to the doctor in the year of 1984(Season 2), a group of demidogs attacked the lab. Although Lori and the rest escaped, there were casualties such as Bob and the unfortunate death of Lori's "parents" Ralph and Loraine. She witnessed their deaths in a hall at the lab. While heartbroken, Lori was still able to help fight off the rest of the monsters, helping El close the gate at the end of Season 2. Lori then found herself working at the Starcourt mall in the summer of 85 at the mall's only Music Store. She had loved music and had grown a wide taste in it, including her mother's 60s-70s love songs while also mixing in her father's more 70-80s punk rock songs. She worked there for about 3 months before everything went downhill and she had helped Robin, Steve and Dustin uncover the truth about the Russians. In the end, she had tried saving Billy, however her attempts to control his emotions, to create illusions in his mind and even to put him to sleep had failed causing Billy and the rest to face far worse injuries. Feeling useless and alone, Lori thought it was time that she had really gone to school. Although learning almost everything she needed to know for her senior year through her past years in homeschooling from her parents and learning on her own, she thought joining high school might be just what she needed. Noticing that she never had her perfect match, Lori was devastated. It seemed to her that everyone in her friend group were very good friends, however each one of them had their own "ride or die", all except her. Steve had Robin, Lucas had Dustin, Will had Mike, Nancy had Jonathan, Max had El, but who did Lori have? In attempts to make friends and find her "ride or die", Lori changed her personality from a nerd music lover to a popular cheerleader. With her skills in dance and gymnastics, she quickly became the best cheerleader, while also being the captain of the Hawkins girls swim team. However, she never truly found the right person for her, still eating lunch alone at a table of jocks, the quiet library, or even the bathroom stalls. Following the upcoming events happening this spring, we are left to wonder: Will this Spring Break change the course of Lori's life?
