Jason woke up with a gut wrenching scream. He was unsure of his surroundings for a brief moment before his little brother; Dustin, came running into his room.

"JAY!! JAY!" Dustin shouted shaking his brother. "Dude! Jason! Wake up! Dude! Hey! WAKE UP!" Dustin continued.

Jason fluttered his eyes before looking at his concerned younger brother. "Dustin?" Jason croaked. "Dude...are you okay?" Dustin asked.

"I-I'm fine, Dustin." Jason voiced wiping the beads of sweat off his face.

"That's a lie and you know it. This is hardly the first nightmare you've had recently, Jason." Dustin argued.

Jason looked at the time before looking at Dustin. It was only 3:18 AM in the morning.

"I said I'm fine, Dustin." Jason spat. "I've kept track of every night you've screamed yourself awake, Jason. And it's happened 27 times...28 now. Jay, you are NOT alright." Dustin countered.

"I SAID I'M FINE! NOW LEAVE ME ALONE!" Jason snapped shoving Dustin out of his room before slamming the door shut.

"Asshole!" Dustin cried out from beyond the door. Jason let out a breath before falling onto his bed face first.

Jason turned his head and stared at the clock. He furrowed his brows as the numbers on the clock shifted and fell away.

The numbers were replaced...by letters. Jason jolted upright with a gasp. Staring at the clock with wide eyes.

DIE

He unplugged it with a deep breath before watching it flicker back on. And flashed three words at the teenager.

DIE

Jason grabbed the clock and threw to the floor before grabbing his bat and smashing it to pieces.

He stood up and stared at the destroyed clock.

He tossed the bat aside and sat on the floor and brought his knees up to his chest as tears ran down his face.
